At the secret realm exit of the Damp Forest, Wolf rushed out in a bedraggled state.

He found a patch of water nearby and examined his reflection. His expression immediately turned ugly. He subconsciously reached up to touch the streak-like sword scars on his face, only to bare his teeth in pain a moment later.

"Damn it!"

He cursed viciously, like a ferocious, enraged wolf.

Yet that fierceness was quickly suppressed by lingering fear, shock, and horror, leaving only a face full of relief at having survived.

"How did you end up in such a sorry state?"

Suddenly, a calm voice sounded beside Wolf's ear.

He spun around sharply and saw a thin figure gradually materialize in the air, like ink spreading across white paper.

A young black-haired man stood before him. His face was lean, his skin pale, and he wore a green robe marked with three Thorn Knots. Black diamond earrings hung from each earlobe, and he exuded a cold, unfathomable aura.

He was like a shadow of malice that constantly spread and expanded, ceaselessly swallowing the surrounding light.

He tossed Wolf a bottle of pale red potion. Wolf caught it, quickly twisted off the cap, and gulped it down in one messy swallow.

As the potion took effect, a series of faint, rapid bone-cracking sounds came from Wolf's body. After the sounds continued for a while, his rough face, covered in red marks, returned to normal. Only then did the panic and terror in him gradually settle.

Wolf fell silent for a moment before saying, "The task you gave me failed."
