Background / History
Dago transmigrates into the body of Dago Heka, a young First-Level Wizard Apprentice whose soul was consumed after he drank a contaminated Mental Potion. The original Dago came from a farming family and possessed only Low-Grade Wizard Talent; he had been sent to Ainak Wizard Academy at age sixteen after a wizard census 1.
The former owner had been driven from his rented room in Aina Town after spending his money pursuing advancement. Hunter Roland gave him a concealed stone hut in Emerald Forest, where Dago continues to live after the transmigration 1. He accepts the former owner’s remaining obsession: reach Second-Level Apprentice within half a year. He also reports the merchant responsible for the poisoned potion, who is subsequently arrested 1 4 5.
Dago supports himself through hunting, selling venison jerky and hides, and cultivating in the forest. His rapid progress lets him enroll at Ainak Wizard Academy as a Second-Level Apprentice, though he remains a commuting student because he cannot afford its lodging fees 6 7.
Appearance
Dago is an eighteen-year-old young man with a handsome, increasingly sturdy build shaped by hunting, magical-beast meat, and Resonance Art training 7 32 34.
- Black hair; initially grown past his shoulders, later cut into a neat crew cut by Selena 7 32
- Deep blue or azure eyes that glow with blue halos while he uses spiritual power 1 15
- Sharp brows, high nose, fair skin, and a scholarly yet noble-looking face 1 7
- Initially appears sickly, sallow, swollen-faced, and exhausted from the poisoned potion 1
- Wears apprentice robes, including a Third-Level Apprentice robe lined with Shadow Leopard hide for warmth 18 21
- His right arm becomes visibly strengthened as Resonance Art accumulates ice elements within his body 18 34
Personality
Dago is intensely driven by survival and advancement. He treats cultivation as a practical necessity rather than an abstract pursuit, repeatedly taking dangerous opportunities—hunting magical beasts, gathering Moonlight Flowers, and joining high-risk missions—to gain resources and mental power 13 16 48.
He is cautious and analytical in hostile situations. He cleans battle scenes to conceal his involvement, remains suspicious of unexpected strangers, studies his own shortcomings after combat, and memorizes ambush routes through Aina Town 18 26 30 45.
Despite his ruthlessness in battle, Dago cares deeply for those he considers family. He supports Mariko, protects Selena, helps wounded wizards, and chooses to remain in town because of his companions 26 33 44. Mariko considers him “the most humane wizard” he has met 33.
Abilities & Skills
Progress System
Dago possesses a system panel that records skills and their numerical progress, allowing him to track continuous improvement through practice 7 8.
- Recorded skills include the Universal Wizard Meditation Method, Air Bullet, Ice Crystal Technique, Resonance Art, and Detection Technique 7 8
- Enables unusually rapid, sustained cultivation compared with ordinary apprentices 20 21
- His rapid growth leads others to suspect he may possess rare Bloodline Wizard talent 32
Universal Wizard Meditation Method
Dago uses the Meditation Method to refine mental mist into spiritual power within his Mental Space 2 3.
- Recovers and expands spiritual power through cultivation 3 11
- Allows him to repeatedly draw in and refine mental mist, an ability other apprentices find unusual 21

Air Bullet
Dago’s foundational air-element spell condenses compressed air into a projectile 6 7.
- Initially leaves a palm-deep indentation in a thick tree trunk 6
- Can destroy trees and be fired repeatedly when his spiritual power is full 11 15
- Used beneath his feet for sudden movement, jumps, and evasive bursts 27 38
- Its ordinary output struggles to damage a Bronze Crocodile’s armored back 16
Flame Core Air Bullet
A metamorphosed form of Air Bullet and Dago’s principal trump card 28 47.
- Requires enormous spiritual-power output; Dago uses Mental Potions to sustain its casting 27
- Appears as a highly compressed mass of air resembling a miniature sun 27
- Used to destroy Raymond after Dago traps him in an ice spike prison 38
- Further enhanced through cultivation with nine Mental Potions 47
Ice Crystal Technique and Ice Crystal Cannon
Dago learns the Ice Crystal Technique from Instructor Rosalyn’s manuscript and develops it into several combat applications 8 13.
- Creates ice crystals, pillars, spheres, and freezing effects 8 16
- Can provide emergency treatment by applying condensed ice to injuries 26
- Ice Crystal Cannon combines an ice shell with compressed air for devastating ranged attacks 13
- The Cannon kills an Advanced Third-Level Apprentice and can breach protective barriers 17
- Reaches its Apex form, though Dago finds no further visible progress value afterward 28
Ice Crystal Prison
An ambush technique that uses prepared ice elements to trap enemies 38 46.
- Used against Raymond as part of Dago’s final attack sequence 38
- Allows Dago to eliminate three Black-Robed Wizards and five Blood Slaves in a street ambush 46
- Its aftermath causes Dago nausea, reflecting the technique’s psychological toll 46
Body–Element Resonance Art
A forbidden Emerald Life technique that attaches ambient elements to the body and increases elemental affinity 11.
- Carries the risk of radiation sickness, bodily decay, and death 11
- Allows Dago to accumulate ice elements in his limbs, increasing his physical strength 15 34
- Forms ice armor over his arm for short periods and supports the strongest version of Ice Crystal Cannon 17 18
- Creates the Frost Ice Claw/Frost Armguard, which can freeze and shatter corrosive shadow-energy spheres 26
- Reaches the Metamorphosis stage and moves Dago toward a Dharma Body 34
Detection Technique
A detection spell used for scouting, threat assessment, and combat awareness 12 13.
- Detects energy particles and allows Dago to monitor terrain while traveling 13
- Its range approaches thirty meters by the time he becomes a Third-Level Apprentice 15
- Can identify an enemy spell’s approximate effect while it is still being cast 25
- At Metamorphosis, activates in under a second and traces vast concentrations of negative energy 49
Potion Brewing
Dago brews Mental Potions from Moonlight Flowers and uses them to increase mental power 20 22.
- Moonlight Flowers are gathered from the dangerous area around Moonlight Lake 16 22
- Produces five Mental Potions as strategic reserves 20
- Shares Mental Potions with Mariko and Selena to strengthen their patrol team 25
- Uses potion rewards and purchased inferior potions for intensive cultivation before the Blood Pool mission 47 48

Dago’s forest experience supports both his income and his combat leadership 6 20.
- Hunts magical beasts including Shadow Leopards and Bronze Crocodiles 11 16
- Leads the Forest Patrol as its captain and serves as his team’s principal attacker 20 25
- Uses Detection Technique, triangular formation, hand signals, ambushes, and coordinated spellcasting 25

Story Role / Major Arcs
Transmigration and Early Advancement

Forest Patrol
After discovering the Duskblood Council’s presence and killing an Advanced Third-Level Black-Robed Wizard, Dago reports the threat to the academy. He and Mariko organize the eight-member Forest Patrol, with Dago serving as captain 17 19 20.
As the patrol loses members and the war worsens, Dago, Mariko, and Selena remain together as a three-person squad. Their coordinated tactics defeat several Black-Robed Wizards, but their Treehouse Outpost is destroyed during a battle against a High-Grade Third-Level Apprentice 24 25 27 28.
Town Patrol and Mariko’s Death
Dago, Mariko, and Selena receive academy rewards but are coerced by Vissel into joining Town Patrol. During an attack at a watchtower, Vissel’s Wind Blades kill Mariko; Dago kills Vissel in retaliation 34 35 36.

Defense of Aina Town
Following Mariko’s burial, Dago and Selena remain in Aina Town as the Duskblood Council’s attacks escalate. Dago protects civilians, defeats Black-Robed Wizards, and uses the Duskblood Council insignia and magic stones to secure Selena an airship ticket 40 43 44.
Dago sends Selena away with a storage pouch, Mid-Grade Magic Stones, and a rune robe so that she can survive independently. With Mariko dead and Selena safe, he commits himself to further cultivation and combat against the Duskblood Council 45.
