The ancient pendulum clock in the castle ticked away. After an unknown amount of time, two figures returned to the hall.
They were Lady Dairen and the Second-Ring Wizard Benson, who had left earlier.
When Benson had left, he had still been at the Early Second Circle. Now, Mid-Second Circle spiritual force fluctuations had begun radiating from him. They were somewhat unstable, as though he had forcibly raised his level through some method.
Yet Benson still looked quite delighted, unable to hide the excitement on his cold, stern face.
What surprised Dago was that Benson, who had previously carried himself with considerable arrogance, seemed to have undergone a tremendous change in attitude toward Lady Dairen after returning.
There was a faint, heartfelt respect in his manner toward her, one that even carried a hint of ingratiation.
His appearance had also changed subtly—his formerly sparse hair had become thick and coarse, his lean frame seemed somewhat stronger, and faint heat radiated from his body. These were signs of surging vitality and an enhanced physique.
Dago was a master of the Elemental Resonance Art and was extremely sensitive to such physical changes in others.

Dago frowned slightly, deep doubt rising in his heart, though his expression remained unchanged.
The return of the two made all the waiting wizards sit up straight.
"According to the agreement, Mr. Benson, you will need to stay in the manor for two months."

Having just completed the ritual and gained improvements in certain respects, Benson nodded obediently to Lady Dairen. Then, led by several castle servants, he left the hall for another part of the castle.
