Days passed one after another, and Dago had not stepped out of his room even once since boarding the ship.
Every meal was delivered to his door by someone assigned to the task. He only needed to occasionally sense Tracy's aura and location, remaining utterly unconcerned with everything else.
In the dim room, sunlight streamed through a gap in the curtains, casting a straight orange patch across the paulownia wood floor.
A tall, upright figure stood before a silver metal mirror. At his feet, a fluffy Grey Goat idly licked his toes again and again.
"My injuries recovered faster than expected."
"Crack, crack, crack—"
Dago looked at himself in the mirror and stretched his limbs slightly, producing a dense series of crisp pops from his bones.
Compared to more than a month ago, he undoubtedly looked far better now.
Most of the "burns" on his body had healed, leaving only uneven, proliferative flesh scars that would take time to gradually fade.
His features had regained their original handsome contours, and hair had grown back over his scalp—a short layer of black. Combined with the scars that had yet to disappear, it gave Dago a great deal of savage, domineering presence.
Dago found a wizard's robe and slowly draped it over himself, concealing the firm, streamlined muscles beneath. He put on a silver metal mask, revealing only a pair of deep sapphire-blue eyes.
The man in the mirror looked cold and unfathomable, carrying an air of profound mystery that could not be probed.
In a daze, Dago seemed to see the image of a sunny, slightly chubby youth steadily drifting farther away from him within the mirror.
He shook his head, brushing away the faint ripples that had risen in his heart.
He casually brought up his current character panel.
