Dago's previous experience of being stabbed in the back by an Omnipotent Ring wizard had filled him with wariness and resistance toward things like Soul Contracts.
But for any wizarding faction, signing a non-betrayal contract was the most basic condition for joining and gaining access to its inheritances and resources. No faction would waive this step.
So Dago sought a solution from Alazan. The facts proved that a "living fossil" of the Wizarding World like Alazan, who had lived for who knew how many years, was himself a vast treasure trove of knowledge. With a little pressure, good things could always be dug out of him.
The Soul Simulation Art was not some powerful or complicated secret technique, but it was quite practical. It could simulate one's soul aura into any form one desired.
Dago used Alazan's Soul Force to simulate his own soul aura, and even Heliodor, a Fifth-Circle Wizard, could not detect anything amiss.
Though the two contracts had been signed, Alazan was the actual signatory. They had nothing to do with Dago at all.
It was a perfect way to evade the restrictions and constraints imposed by the Soul Contracts.
"That's about everything. If you run into anything you don't understand, come ask me then."
After Heliodor explained the many rules and taboos of the Deep Sea School of Spirit Mirror Lake to Dago, he lightly clapped his hands.
"Silver Coin!"
Whoosh—
The instant the words fell, Dago's vision blurred. A white shadow flashed past, moving so fast that even his naked eyes could barely catch it.
By the time he came back to his senses, a massive white cat stood before him. Its body was covered in long, silver-white fur, and its eyes were emerald green. It was indescribably beautiful.
"Take him to his residence."
