"Whaaat?"
Just as Narumiya Mei was about to lose his patience, Sendou finally picked up.
The crafty bunch beside the white-haired boy instantly pricked up their ears like a pack of adorable rabbits.
"'Whaaat'?" Narumiya's anger shot through the roof at Sendou's response.
"You... didn't come watch the game today, did you?" Narumiya Mei asked, clinging to the last of his self-control.
If he blew up now, he would never get his point across. Besides, Sendou would almost certainly hang up.
After being toyed with by him so many times, Narumiya Mei could more or less guess what Sendou might do.
"Nope!
Why?"
"He admitted it just like that..." Narumiya was stunned.
"Did something happen?"
"Didn't you say you'd come watch the game?!
Why didn't you show up?!
I can't believe you stood me up!
I never thought you were the kind of person who'd do that!" The white-haired boy could no longer hold back and complained at the top of his lungs like a child.
His whole manner said, Apologize properly and make it up to me, though Sendou couldn't see him.
The others had long since grown used to the white-haired boy's sudden transformations and said nothing.
"Anyway, sorry!
I didn't realize it meant so much to you!
Let me off this once!" Sendou said, sounding genuinely surprised.
Carlos and the others were a little taken aback. Instead of pulling some elaborate trick to handle Narumiya, Sendou had apologized outright?
If Sendou knew they thought that of him, he would have been speechless.
"If he apologizes that easily, our young master's going to be a handful," Carlos murmured.
The others nodded together. Even Shirakawa, who was usually aloof when he wasn't muttering to himself, couldn't help nodding.
"It's not about whether I let you off anymore. This is
