At two in the morning,
Jerry's bedroom door was slowly pushed open. A tall figure stooped over and tiptoed inside like a thief.
It was Hass, his adoptive father in this life.

Hass looked at Jerry sprawled across the bed, the blanket kicked halfway off, and muttered to himself.
He picked up the blanket and covered Jerry with it, then quietly left the room again and closed the door behind him.
