Not long after landing on the hospital rooftop, Jerry expanded his domain, wrapping himself within it.

At that moment, Ancient One's soul had already left her body. Using her most powerful Time Magic, she had temporarily frozen time across the entire Earth.

If he did not expand his domain and use countless laws to block Ancient One's Time Magic, he too would be temporarily frozen within it.

Ancient One used her own death to make Stephen understand the responsibility of the Sorcerer Supreme. Then she gave him another round of brainwashing and emotional manipulation, making Stephen waver in his resolve to return to being a doctor.

Jerry summed up Ancient One's theory: being a doctor could only save one person, but becoming the Sorcerer Supreme meant saving the entire world.
