Nine Magic Arrays instantly appeared above Shaw's head, and white pillars of energy slammed down onto him.

"Useless! This kind of energy attack is ineffective against me!"

Struck by the white energy pillars, Shaw was not alarmed but delighted. He pushed his ability to its limit and frantically absorbed the energy above him, which was even stronger than nuclear power.

He had been worried that Erik had interrupted his plan to absorb nuclear energy, leaving him without enough power to wipe out the human fleet at sea. Yet now, so much energy was being delivered to him for free.

At this rate, he would only grow stronger and stronger.

"Ignorant fool!"

As if he had heard Shaw's inner monologue, Jerry gave a cold smile, and the energy pillars instantly grew ten times thicker.

Shaw could indeed absorb all forms of energy. Even if someone threw a Killing Curse at him, he would directly absorb it as energy, and it would have no effect whatsoever.

However, as merely a Mutant, the rate at which his body could absorb energy was limited.

That was why he had not simply detonated a nuclear bomb and absorbed its energy directly. Instead, he had specifically built a nuclear submarine and absorbed nuclear power slowly, in an extremely gradual manner.

It was because the energy released by a nuclear explosion was simply too great. He could not absorb it all at once that quickly.

If he could not absorb all the nuclear energy in an instant, the excess energy would completely destroy his physical body.

The reason Logan and the others had been unable to harm Shaw was that the energy they generated did not come close to Shaw's absorption limit. Erik was the same.
