Another three weeks had passed since Bruce, Gordon, and the others' attack. During those three weeks, Bruce seemed to have come to terms with something and no longer appeared to stop Jerry from killing.

He merely kept using the Wayne family's immense economic power to ensure that Gotham City's economy would not suffer a catastrophic collapse due to the deaths of too many important figures.

By now, every gang in Gotham City had been forced to disband. Most of the ruthless criminals were dead, and so were the key figures from the old families backing those gangs.

Quite a few prominent high-ranking government officials had not escaped death either. Only the lives of ordinary civilians had remained completely unaffected.

Because every dead person had a written confession on them, while no one had even caught a glimpse of the killer to this day, Gotham City's residents called the incident the "Divine Punishment" incident.

It meant that even God could no longer tolerate Gotham City's evil and had sent Gods into the human world to punish it, casting those sinful souls into Hell.

Only Batman Bruce Wayne knew that the one responsible for all this was actually a cat. But that cat's true identity might very well be some unknown God.

It was precisely because Gotham City's entire web of interests had been ruthlessly destroyed that crime in Gotham City had nearly dropped to zero, with only some insignificant thefts still occurring from time to time.

The atmosphere throughout Gotham City had also changed drastically. More and more people began strolling outside at night, and things that could never have existed in Gotham City before, such as night markets, gradually began to appear.

The gangsters who once carried machetes and pistols had now mostly become street vendors at the night markets.
