Background / History

Thor is Odin's eldest son, an Asgardian prince, and the intended heir to Asgard. Before his exile, he was proud, warlike, and eager to win glory through battle. His impulsive assault on Jotunheim prompted Odin to strip him of his divine power and cast him down to Midgard without Mjolnir. 172 177

On Earth, Thor was initially treated as a delusional patient after being struck by Jane Foster's car and Darcy Lewis's Electrogun. Unable to use his former strength, he unsuccessfully tried to find transportation at a pet store before meeting Jerry, who offered to help him reach Mjolnir. 170 171

Thor believed reclaiming Mjolnir would restore him, but Odin's enchantment prevented him from lifting it. The failure leaves him devastated and confirms that his exile is not yet over. 173
