An Accidental Encounter on the Street
"How could you not mention something this big earlier?!"
Hajime Kashimo looked angrily at Jie Jian. If he still had some use for Jie Jian, he would have loved to give him a beating with his staff!
Seeing that prison-Kashimo was worked up, Jie Jian stood up immediately.
I know you're in a rush, but don't rush just yet! Jie Jian pulled a key from his pocket. I remember there's a car in the garage downstairs. It's only the first day, so I'll drive you to Sendai right now. The Sendai Four Heavenly Kings might not have left that quickly yet!
Jie Jian and the others were temporarily staying in a villa at the moment. As a bumpkin, the moment he first came in, he noticed a luxury supercar parked in the villa's garage.
He had also seen the car keys right by the door of the villa's bedroom.
Hajime Kashimo took two deep breaths.
Things had come to this, so this was the only way.
Sendai was still some distance away from Tokyo, and he didn't have the ability to fly, so driving there was undoubtedly the fastest method.
"Where is the garage?!"
"This way, this way, I'll take you right now!"
He immediately led Hajime Kashimo running toward the garage, and before long, Jie Jian climbed into the sports car.
Sitting in the driver's seat, Jie Jian gripped the steering wheel with both hands and suddenly froze in place.
"Let's go. What are you sitting there for?"
"Uh... God Kashimo, a minor problem has suddenly come up."
"What problem? Is the car out of gas?"
"No, actually, I don't know how to drive."
Although Jie Jian had a driver's license, he had obtained it back when he was in college.
Ever since then, he hadn't touched a car in nearly seven or eight years, and his driving skills and all that were long gone.
Hajime Kashimo took a deep breath.
"You don't know how to drive, yet you sat in the driver's seat?! Get out of here right now!"
Jie Jian hurried to unbuckle his seatbelt and got out. Actually, he hadn't planned on driving at all in the beginning; he had intended to sit in the passenger seat.
But in Japan, the driver's seat was on the right, so he subconsciously sat in the driver's seat out of habit.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Jie Jian looked unexpectedly at Hajime Kashimo beside him, who was fastening his seatbelt.
He hadn't expected Hajime Kashimo to care so much about traffic rules and even know how to put on a seatbelt!
Suddenly, Jie Jian asked with some curiosity:
"God Kashimo, I didn't expect you to know how to drive?"
With a dark face, Hajime Kashimo fastened his seatbelt. "Sit quietly! Stop running your damn mouth."
Even though he was a sorcerer from four hundred years ago, it didn't mean he was some ignorant old antique.
Having been resurrected through incarnation, he possessed all the memories of his original body.
And the original body happened to know how to drive, so driving was still no problem for him.
Seeing that prison-Kashimo seemed angry, Jie Jian hurriedly nodded, pinched his thumb and index finger together, and made a zipper motion across his mouth to indicate that he was shutting up.
After determining the direction of Sendai via the car's built-in navigation, Hajime Kashimo started the vehicle directly.
He drove the sports car all the way out. Jie Jian, sitting in the passenger seat, looked through the window and saw quite a few sporadic people on the roadside who seemed to be heading out as well.
Their cursed energy was very weak, and most of them seemed to be ordinary people.
On second thought, Jie Jian understood. These people had no combat power, and once the barrier's restriction on people vanished, the very first thing they thought of was to get the hell out of this ghost place as quickly as possible.
Before long, the black boundary of the barrier appeared in front of Jie Jian.
Looking at the barrier stretching straight into the sky ahead, Jie Jian suddenly felt a bit worried about whether they were going to crash straight into it in a moment.
Fortunately, Jie Jian's worry was unnecessary.
After Hajime Kashimo added his new rule, the barrier no longer restricted people's free entry and exit at all, and the car passed straight through the barrier without any obstruction.
As the vehicle gradually steadied, a bored Jie Jian also began to look around the city of Tokyo.
Before transmigrating, Jie Jian, as a country bumpkin, never had the chance to travel to a foreign city like Tokyo.
Only, after looking for a few minutes, Jie Jian felt a bit underwhelmed in his heart.
For no other reason than the outside scenery was too boring.
Even though night had just fallen, Tokyo was exceptionally quiet at this moment.
Along the way, Jie Jian couldn't see any figures at all; it was like a dead city.
It seemed that the opening of the Culling Game had taken quite a toll on the people of Tokyo, and Tokyo's entire nightlife had vanished.
Just as Jie Jian felt bored and prepared to lean back in his seat to doze off for a bit, the vehicle suddenly slowed down and came to a stop.
Jie Jian looked forward and saw that the street was littered with skewed vehicle wreckage and shattered bricks everywhere.
This wreckage blocked most of the street, making it completely impossible to continue passing through.
"Damn, was there a war here? How did it get blocked up so tight."
Jie Jian asked out of curiosity, his eyes scanning around for possible dangers.
But Hajime Kashimo had no interest in this place; right now, he just wanted to rush to Sendai as fast as possible to challenge the so-called Four Heavenly Kings!
He glanced to the left and right, finally locking his gaze on the sidewalk to the right.
It didn't matter if the street was blocked; the sidewalk over there was wide open and they could drive toward it.
However, just as Hajime Kashimo drove onto the sidewalk, a figure suddenly rushed out from the corner ahead.
The other party looked like an office worker, and at this moment, he was running toward Jie Jian's direction with a terrified look on his face, screaming for help at the top of his lungs.
"Help! Something is chasing me!"
The next instant, Jie Jian knew what was happening.
He saw a massive, four-meter-tall cursed energy monster directly smash through a wall and charge out with a roar.
"What the fuck! Such a huge curse!"
Jie Jian was startled. He looked at Hajime Kashimo beside him, but there was no surprise on his face—instead, there was a trace of anger.
Unlike Jie Jian, Hajime Kashimo was a veteran sorcerer whose perception of curses was much sharper than his, and he probably had noticed a curse chasing behind the man long ago.
It was just that Hajime Kashimo currently had no intention of getting out of the car to help; this kind of curse posed absolutely no challenge to him, and getting out of the car would simply be a waste of time.
However, ignoring the curse definitely wouldn't work either, as such a huge curse was blocking the front and the car definitely wouldn't be able to drive past.
Just as Hajime Kashimo prepared to use a heavy ultimate move to blast the curse and the street away together, two more figures rushed out from behind the curse.
Jie Jian looked ahead and saw a young high school student leap high up into the air.
With all his might, he raised his fist, wrapped a massive amount of cursed energy around it, and struck straight at the curse's head.
The immense force caused the curse to smash directly into the ground, denting the earth down by quite a bit.
Under the young man's attack, the curse let out a wail before dissolving directly into flying ash and completely vanishing into the air.
"Damn, so strong!"
Jie Jian cried out in admiration from inside the car.
He looked at the young man, then looked at his own palms.
They were both sorcerers, so why was the gap so huge?
At least at his current stage, he had zero confidence in facing a curse of this caliber.
Faced with Jie Jian's admiration, Hajime Kashimo in the driver's seat showed not the slightest reaction.
In his eyes, this was merely an ordinary sorcerer, completely unworthy of his excessive attention.
He started the vehicle directly and stepped on the gas pedal, charging right along the sidewalk.
Ahead, the young man—who had originally been comforting the office worker that he was safe—listened as the roar of the engine grew closer and closer, only to look up and realize the car was driving straight toward him.
"It's dangerous!"
The young man shouted and hurriedly dodged to the side.
However, there was no anger on his face from almost being run over; all that was there was dissatisfaction with Hajime Kashimo's reckless driving.
Yet, a person behind the young man was extremely displeased with Hajime Kashimo's driving style.
He cursed furiously at the speeding Hajime Kashimo:
"Can you even drive?! Do you have any idea you almost hit my Yuji?!"
The young man named Yuji instead comforted the other person. "It's fine, it's fine. They probably were just in a bit of a rush."
Faced with the accusation coming from behind, Hajime Kashimo had no intention of stopping whatsoever.
However, the expression of Jie Jian in the passenger seat paused slightly.
Just now, it seemed like he had heard something incredible!
He whipped his head around to look backward, peering through the rear windshield of the car.
Because of the car glass, he couldn't clearly see the faces of the two people behind.
But there was one thing he saw clearly: the leading young man had a hood on the back of his neck!
Thinking of the fact that this was Tokyo, combined with the other person's name being "Yuji," the identity of the other person was practically screaming out!
"Damn, it's the mysterious hooded man!"
