Boarding Onigashima
The powerful Akuta terrified the guards of the Beasts Pirates, who dared not approach.
These pirates who followed Kaido in his conquests had never seen such a spectacle before.
Who is so kind as to take on the entire enemy base by themselves?
A cowardly pirate shouted in disbelief:
"Such a person doesn't exist at all!"
But just then, a loud and gruff voice rang out from behind the defensive line.
"You're just scared!"
The crowd parted, and a tall, burly man with a fierce appearance stepped out.
"How dare they run wild on the Beasts Pirates' territory! I'll send him flying!"
The newcomer was clad in heavy armor and carried a spiked mace on his shoulder; he was none other than Sig, one of the officers stationed at the outer harbor of Ghost Island.
Sig slung his spiked club over his shoulder and strode toward the flagpole.
He was strong and heavy, and every step he took made the stone slabs on the ground creak.
Walking to the flagpole, Sieg looked up at the Akuta above, his eyes filled with contempt and rage.
"Get the hell down here!"
With that, he leaped up suddenly, his spiked club coated in Armament Haki, and slammed it down hard on the flagpole where the Akuta was.
"Boom!"
The flagpole snapped in two, sending splinters of wood flying.
But the Akuta had already left before Sieg made a move, its body flipping in mid-air and landing lightly behind Sieg.
"Are you hard of hearing?"
Akuta patted his clothes, not even glancing at Sig.
"I'm here to see Kaido."
Sig turned abruptly, raising his spiked club once more.
"You think you can just see Lord Kaido like that, you piece of trash? You'll have to get past me first!"
"I've put a 100 million bounty on my head..."
One hundred million?
When Akuta heard this number, he couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Excuse me, I'm in a hurry.
The moment he finished speaking, his body moved.
Sieg only felt a blur before his eyes, and the person was already in front of him, pressing a palm against his chest.
A black shadow burst forth from his palm, and a solid, sharp shadow spike instantly pierced through Sieg's chest.
I'm starving!
Sig's eyes widened as the spiked club slipped from his hand and slammed heavily to the ground.
He opened his mouth as if to say something, but only blood gushed from his throat.
"One hundred million? Don't waste my time."
Akuta and turned to walk deeper into Ghost Island.
The surrounding pirates were frozen in place as if under a spell, watching helplessly as Sigurd's burly body fell forward with a dull thud.
"He... he killed Lord Sig..."
"Quickly, call for help!"
"Set up the defensive line! Don't let him in!"
In the chaos, someone shouted and fired a gun into the air. A red signal flare exploded in the sky, turning the entire Sky Manipulation crimson.
Ignoring the pirates, Akuta quickly rushed towards the core area of Onigashima.
A dark shadow followed him like a living thing, deflecting all the bullets and throwing knives that came along the way.
Although he hadn't seen Kaido yet, Akuta could already vaguely sense the terrifying aura emanating from the highest point of the Onigashima Islands!
"They're here... right here."
Akuta's heart began to race, and his fingertips trembled slightly with long-lost excitement.
"Kaido-sensei, I'm here. Don't disappoint me!"
He muttered something under his breath, then his shadow wings unfurled again, and he shot off into the depths of Ghost Island like an arrow.
"Stop him!"
"Don't let him get near Lord Kaido!"
The shouts, like the broken waves whipped up by the sea breeze, echoed throughout the Ghost Island.
The Beasts Pirates' guards surged in from all directions, like a black tide rushing towards the Akuta. The overwhelming barrage of bullets and slashes almost shattered the morning light.
But Akuta did not stop.
His shadow wings were half-spread, and his body moved at high speed between streets and buildings. Black shadows, like living snakes, kept emerging from behind him, swatting away all the bullets and blades that came from the front.
"Shadow: Thousand Thorns!"
Akuta let out a low shout.
His long shadow suddenly exploded outwards, and dozens of spear-like spikes shot out from the ground, knocking away seven or eight pirates charging towards him, armor and all.
"Damn it, what kind of monster is this?!"
A Beasts Pirate, his face covered in blood, crawled up from the ruins. Just as he raised his musket, he was knocked to the ground by a lash of shadow whips.
The Akuta didn't stop at all.
His gaze remained fixed on the massive, dark building in front of him.
Kaido's presence is right there.
It was faint yet substantial, like a giant beast lurking in the deep sea, waiting for someone fearless to approach.
"Soon."
Akuta murmured a sentence.
Just as he was about to cross the last outer city defense line, the ground suddenly began to shake violently.
"Boom!"
A silver-white slash came hurtling towards him from directly in front!
The strike was immense, carrying the force to almost split the earth in two, and came crashing down from the end of the long street.
Wherever it passed, the stone-paved road was turned up like a plowed field, and the wooden houses on both sides were torn to pieces by the aftershocks.
Akuta's eyes narrowed, and the shadow behind him suddenly surged in front of him, condensing into three overlapping shield walls.
"Bang!"
The first layer shattered instantly.
"Bang!"
The second layer was also cut open.
It wasn't until the third level that the residual force of the slash was barely blocked.
However, a powerful force still traveled along the ground through Akuta's legs, pushing him backward several meters before stopping.
The smoke and dust cleared.
A man in a black jacket, his face contorted with anger, appeared at the end of the street.
The person who arrived was none other than Akuta's old friend.
Flame, Ash!
"We meet again, Jin." Akuta waved to him like an old friend. "I thought you'd be bedridden for at least half a day. The Lunaria people are really tough."
"How dare you come to Ghost Island!"
An almost tangible rage burned in Ember's eyes, and his fiery wings unfurled with a roar, turning the entire street crimson.
"Why are you afraid to come? Is this some kind of dangerous place?"
Akuta shrugged nonchalantly, his tone extremely relaxed, showing absolutely no fear whatsoever.
He looked around, his eyes full of curiosity, and asked:
"Where did Kaido go? I can't find him."
"Call him out right now, I'm here today to fight him."
Akuta's attitude thoroughly enraged Jin.
Jin's pupils contracted sharply, veins bulged on his forehead, and he roared.
"Arrogant!"
He roared, his blade pointing directly at the Akuta.
"Big Brother isn't home, so we don't need Kaido to deal with you! I'll take care of you right now!"
"Kaido isn't here?" The relaxed smile on Akuta's face froze for a moment, then undisguised disappointment surfaced. "He's already gone out... Tsk, what bad timing."
He sighed and turned his gaze back to Jin.
"However, I've lost interest in you. I'm too lazy to fight a defeated opponent again."
These words, spoken in a plain tone, are more jarring than any insult.
Jin's breathing suddenly became heavy, and his hand gripping the knife trembled slightly from the excessive force.
Akuta seemed completely oblivious to the surge of killing intent emanating from the other party, instead tilting his head slightly.
"Hey, let's make a deal. See if you can call Kaido back? I'll pay for the call!"
