Maki stared at those two lines of text, her expression growing darker by the second.
Free movement between Barriers.
Access to player information.
Together, those two rules made the intent obvious.
Someone wanted to hunt down a person in the Culling Game!
Originally, the Barriers were sealed off from one another. Players were trapped in their own areas, able to fight only nearby opponents.
But once they could move freely, the strongest players could roam from colony to colony, seeking out whoever they wanted to fight.
And with point totals available to check, they could tell at a glance who was strong and who was weak. Their hunts would become far more precise.
Maki asked urgently.
"Have you found out who added them?"
Lantai shook his head. "No. The notice only lists the rules, not who added them."
Maki fell silent for a few seconds, then said,
"Have the players outside look up Hajime Kashimo. See how many points he has left."
Lantai paused.
He had not been assigned to enter the Culling Game, so Maki had not given him her information about it. He had no idea who Hajime Kashimo was.
But Maki had given an order, and as her subordinate, he immediately sent someone to check.
Two and a half minutes later, Lantai came running back.
"Clan head, we found him! Hajime Kashimo has zero points right now!"
"Could it really be him...?"
A grave look flashed across Maki's eyes.
According to the information Jie Jian had given her, Hajime Kashimo might be the strongest of all the Ancient Sorcerers.
The Culling Game had been underway for days. Someone that strong could not possibly have zero points.
If he was at zero now, there was a good chance he had spent his points adding those two rules!
