Death Ends in Nothingness!

Satoru Gojo wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

He straightened up again.

Then he looked directly at Ronova, who stood in the sky.

"I have to admit, you gave me a huge surprise."

"But I'm winning this fight!"

Gojo sounded utterly confident, as though he were stating a fact.

And he wasn't wrong.

In truth, Ronova had no chance of winning this fight.

She had simply been born too late.

She wouldn't even have needed much more time. If Ronova had been born about a year earlier,

she could have wiped the floor with Gojo by now.

But there was no changing that.

Still, although Ronova couldn't win, things would have gone badly for Gojo if her All Things Die had targeted him rather than his Cursed Technique.

Even if it hadn't killed him outright, it would have left him permanently devastated.

A substantial part of his very existence would have been condemned to death!

Forget retaining his status as the strongest of the modern age.

Whether he could still live as a normal person would have been in question.

Put simply, Ronova had no chance of beating Gojo now.

But she did have the power to take him down with her.

Her All Things Die truly couldn't kill him outright.

The main reason was that she didn't yet have enough Cursed Energy.

But killing a large part of the concept of Gojo's existence was well within her power.

She had simply chosen not to.

And that decided the outcome of the fight.

Gojo teleported to Ronova's side.

He formed a hand sign and chanted.

Then came... Domain Expansion.

Unlimited Void!!!

Earlier, when faced with Gojo's Unlimited Void,

Ronova could at least have escaped by killing the distance between them.

If she teleported far enough away the instant Gojo began,

she could evade his Domain Expansion.

Unfortunately, that last All Things Die, which had killed Blue and Red, had nearly drained her Cursed Energy.

She couldn't use All Things Die again just yet.

She could only watch as Gojo teleported beside her and opened his domain.

In an instant, an endless flood of useless information swallowed Ronova.

Her thoughts stopped. Her soul crashed.

Unlimited Void really was in a class of its own.

But then something unexpected happened.

Deep in the core of Ronova's soul, the part embodying the ultimate concept of death began to flicker.

At that moment, her consciousness arrived somewhere strange.

It was an entirely gray world, with no concept of space or time.

All that existed was an enormous black hole, haloed in light, before her eyes.

"Where am I?"

Ronova was puzzled. She didn't understand why she had appeared here.

But soon, her instincts as the Death Curse Spirit helped her begin to understand.

And as her understanding deepened, she couldn't stop the smile spreading across her face.

"Wonderful. I'm beginning to understand everything."

"So this is the end of death, the final destination of all things and every concept!"

"And it's the true power at the heart of my existence!"

Fear sprang from the unknown.

And fear of the unknown came from the mortal danger it might conceal.

Ultimately, people feared what that unknown danger could bring.

Death!

Then what lay at the end of death? What was its source?

Why did all things fear death so deeply?

There was only one answer!

Nothingness!

Death ended in nothingness!

People feared death because it erased all existence.

Death meant that every trace proving a living being had ever existed would be swallowed by nothingness.

At the heart of being alive was: I think, therefore I am.

Death was the end of one's own thoughts.

It was the end of the self.

And the ultimate form of death was nothingness!

That was also the power at the heart of Ronova's existence as the Death Curse Spirit.

Of course, she was not nothingness. But she could define the boundary between nothingness and existence.

She could decide whether something existed or did not!

She stood between nothingness and existence.

She could turn existence into nothingness.

That was death. That was her true power!

Once Ronova understood her own nature, her true power and what she could do with it,

she naturally came to understand her own domain.

And at that moment, she regained consciousness.

The flood of useless information from Unlimited Void

had completely lost its hold on her.

Gojo's bug-level domain, the one he took such pride in,

was utterly useless against her!

Inside Unlimited Void, Gojo silently counted the seconds.

After roughly ten seconds, he prepared to dismiss his domain.

Flooding someone with too much useless information could leave them an idiot.

He had no intention of doing that to Ronova.

But just as Gojo was about to form the hand sign to dismiss his domain,

Ronova, whose eyes had remained shut, suddenly opened them.

Her golden pupils glowed, sending a chill through even Gojo.

More than anything, he was baffled. "How is this possible? You shouldn't be awake."

"Unless... it's a domain?"

In Jujutsu Society, only a domain could counter a domain.

Different domains could neutralize and cancel each other out.

That was, of course, assuming they weren't too far apart in power.

Otherwise, one would simply overwhelm the other.

Jogo's domain, for instance, had been overwhelmed by Gojo's Unlimited Void.

And given how absurdly powerful Ronova was, if she had awakened her own domain,

she really could neutralize Unlimited Void's effects.

Ronova confirmed Gojo's suspicion. "That's right. Thanks to you, I've awakened my own domain."

"Want to see it? You're the first person to get the chance!"

Seeing the smile Ronova couldn't hide, Gojo instinctively sensed danger.

That little menace was definitely up to no good.

But Gojo's damned curiosity wouldn't let him refuse.

In the end, he answered, "Then let me take a look."

"I want to see what the legendary Death Curse Spirit's domain looks like."

"Then watch closely."

Ronova smiled as she spoke.

Her expression turned solemn, and Cursed Energy surged around her.

The next instant, Domain Expansion!

Between Existence and Nonexistence!!!

As Ronova opened her domain, an enormous black hole appeared before Gojo.

No, it wasn't a black hole.

That was only how it appeared.

At its core lay absolute nothingness!

Ronova spoke at just the right moment, explaining it to Gojo. "As you can see, this is my domain!"

"Between Existence and Nonexistence!"

"Within this domain, I decide what exists and what doesn't!"

"If I say it exists, it does. If I say it doesn't, it doesn't!"

"Want to test it?"

After Ronova finished speaking, Gojo's expression slowly changed.

It turned bitter.

To put it more precisely,

he looked like Fire Punch.

He genuinely couldn't keep his expression under control.
