One day, two years earlier.
After dinner, Qing Si and his father, Kaguya Genji, returned to their respective rooms to rest.
Back in his room, Qing Si picked up a scroll from the corner and slowly spread it open. Then he sat cross-legged and began slowly guiding the chakra within his body according to the method depicted on the scroll.
That was right—six-year-old Qing Si already possessed chakra.
When he was four, Qing Si found the scroll his mother, Kaguya Yukiko, had taken with her when she was expelled from the Kaguya Clan. Following the method recorded on it, he extracted chakra by combining physical energy and spiritual energy.
Having inherited the finest Kaguya bloodline, Qing Si possessed talent far surpassing even his father, Kaguya Genji. Within a few breaths, he had guided out his first wisp of chakra.
With no one to teach him, Qing Si had no idea what such speed meant. At the time, he merely followed the steps, continuously mixing physical and spiritual energy to strengthen the chakra within him. Unfortunately, he was still too young, and the harsh living conditions had slowed his physical development. After only a few minutes, he passed out.
Thus, Qing Si extracted chakra almost every night. Yet limited by his scarce physical energy, his chakra grew very slowly.
After extracting chakra, Qing Si did not stop training. He continued guiding the chakra through his body along the circulation paths recorded in the scroll. This was a chakra training method passed down by the Kaguya Clan since the Warring States Era. By completing a full cycle through fixed meridians and acupoints, it could make chakra more condensed and increase the speed at which it flowed through the body.
Of course, it was also said to stimulate the awakening of a Bloodline Limit. However, throughout the Kaguya Clan's long history, there had still been very few Bloodline Limit users, so this supposed effect was hardly convincing.
Over the two years from age four to six, Qing Si's body was still poorly developed, but it was already far better than before he began training chakra.
Chakra flowed swiftly through Qing Si's meridians along a path he knew well, slowly nourishing his young body. After completing ten full cycles, Qing Si prepared to stop and rest. Just then, he discovered that his body had begun trembling uncontrollably. The chakra within him, which had gradually calmed, suddenly accelerated once more.
Qing Si panicked, not knowing what had happened. He thought something had gone wrong with his training today and desperately tried to control the chakra within his body, wanting to bring it back under his command.
The chakra raced faster and faster through his meridians, while Qing Si's body grew hotter and hotter. In his daze, he seemed to hear the sound of chakra surging through him like a great river.
Just as Qing Si was at a loss and about to call for his father's help from the next room, the chakra flow within him gradually slowed. At the same time, Qing Si's chakra reserves began to rise rapidly. They soon doubled, then continued skyrocketing without pause. Moreover, Qing Si could feel that his physical strength was slowly increasing as well.
Opening his eyes, Qing Si looked utterly confused, unable to understand what had happened to his body. "Why has my chakra suddenly increased so much?"
Since neither of his parents had ever told him, Qing Si did not know that he possessed the potential to awaken a Bloodline Limit, something rare even in the Shinobi World. The abnormal change just now had been the awakening of the Dead Bone Pulse Bloodline Limit, which had caused his chakra reserves to surge...!
And Qing Si, who knew little about ninja at the time, could only vaguely guess from the scattered things his mother had once mentioned that his current chakra reserves were probably, perhaps, maybe, possibly much greater than those of an ordinary ninja...?
In truth, given Qing Si's bloodline and talent, his Dead Bone Pulse should have awakened around the age of four. However, because of his exile, the harsh environment and lack of nutrition had severely delayed his physical development by roughly two or three years compared to normal children. His chakra reserves had also never kept up.
Thus, only today, after more than two years of accumulating chakra and nurturing his body, did the Bloodline Limit that had lain dormant within him for so long finally awaken.
Qing Si was still thrilled by the massive growth in his chakra when he suddenly felt his body gradually heating up. For some reason, he felt as though he could do something. Slowly driving the chakra within him, he followed his body's instincts and evenly distributed all his chakra among his ten fingers. He stretched both hands forward and aimed ahead.
Under Qing Si's control, the osteoblasts and osteoclasts in his hands were rapidly mobilized, and the calcium concentration in his palms quickly increased.
Ten sharp bone spikes slowly grew from the tips of his ten fingers. Qing Si was startled, thinking something had gone wrong with his finger bones. He hurriedly tried to cut off his chakra and retract the bones, but having only just awakened, he had no experience controlling the Dead Bone Pulse. The scroll his mother left behind had not mentioned the Dead Bone Pulse either. In Qing Si's panic, the ten bone spikes shot forward like bullets.
BOOM!
With a deafening crash, the wall collapsed under the impact of Ten-Finger Bullet. Qing Si, having exhausted all his chakra immediately after awakening his Bloodline Limit, passed out on the spot.
The collapsing wall woke Genji, who had been sleeping next door. Still groggy, he came to Qing Si's room and immediately saw his son unconscious on the floor, along with the wall ahead that had been blasted into fragments.
His gaze swept over the debris on the ground before suddenly stopping. He saw several bone bullets deeply embedded in the fragments of the wall.
"Ten-Finger Bullet... So his Bloodline Limit has awakened," Genji murmured.
At that moment, two figures flashed rapidly outside the house. They were the two Jonin assigned to monitor and guard Qing Si's family.
"What happened?" one of the Jonin shouted.
"Get lost! Nothing happened!" A low roar rang out. Genji was not surprised by the arrival of the two men outside. Though he had never paid them any attention before, in order to prevent news of Qing Si's Bloodline Limit from leaking out, he could only slowly walk into the courtyard and confront the two Jonin.
"If nothing happened, then the two of us will be leaving. I hope you know what's good for you, Lord Genji," the other Jonin mocked.
"Hmph. My dear brother's lapdogs. My family's affairs are none of your concern. Get lost already. Though my strength has declined, I can still take one of you down with me if I'm willing to get injured. Want to try?" Genji shot them a disdainful glance and threatened.
"Heh, withdraw!" The two Jonin had no idea that Genji could not defeat them unless he truly fought for his life. After briefly checking the area, they withdrew under Genji's threat.
