"Young Master Ye, Clearwind Stronghold is up ahead. When we get there, follow behind me and don't speak. I'll take you inside," Liu Laosan said, turning to Ye Yun.

Ye Yun said nothing, merely nodding at Liu Laosan.

Once Liu Laosan understood Ye Yun's meaning, he led Ye Yun toward the gate ahead.

They had not gone far when a voice called down from the watchtower, "Who's down there?"

"Zhao Goudan, you bastard! Don't you recognize me?!" Liu Laosan raised his head and roared fiercely at the watchtower.

"Oh! So it's the Third Chief. It's too dark—I didn't make you out. My apologies!" the bandit named Zhao Goudan replied.

"Enough of your damned nonsense! Open the gate for me!"

"Y-Yes, Third Chief. Please wait a moment, I'll come down and open it right away."

With that, Zhao Goudan was seen nimbly climbing down the watchtower stairs.

"Once we get in, find a way to call down the people in the watchtowers," Ye Yun instructed Liu Laosan in a low voice.

Six beds stood inside the room, but only four people were present. The others had likely either already been killed by Ye Yun or were keeping watch at the foot of the mountain.

Ye Yun quickened his pace and headed toward where Liu Laosan was waiting.
