Asgard, Asgard Palace.
Jane Foster sat on the edge of the bed and traced her fingers in the air.
In front of her, a holographic star map was slowly rotating. This was the data model of Convergence that she had recalibrated using Asgard's star mapper when she was bored in the hospital bed.
"The gravitational parameters here are wrong..." Jane bit her lip, frowned, and passed the light pen in her hand through the holographic image, "If it is based on the theory of Nine Realms overlap, there should be a 0.03% deviation in the gravitational constant of Midgard, but the data above is smooth."
"Still working?"
Thor walked in, carrying a basket of golden fruits.
Jane raised her head, and the anxiety in her eyes instantly turned into tenderness.
"Thor, I have to go back." Jane turned off the star map and stood up. Her movements were light, and the feeling of weakness that had been eroded by Aether had completely disappeared.
"Where to go back? Earth?" Thor put the basket on the table and frowned, "Your body has just recovered, and Asgard's energy has not completely eliminated your hidden dangers."
"I'm healed, really. Look." Jane jumped twice and showed off her slender but energetic arms, "And the deadline for my paper is only three days! Three days! I have to go back and enter the data of Convergence! This is a Nobel-level discovery!"
Thor looked at her and sighed helplessly.
"Mortal pursuits..." He shook his head, with a doting smile on his lips, "Okay, if you insist."
At this moment, the door of the main hall was pushed open.
Sif strode in, the blade in her hand still stained with wet blood. Apparently she had just returned from some unlucky rebel.
"Thor, Heimdall have found something." Sif's voice was cold and he went straight to the topic, "About the jailbreaker."
"Jailbreaker?" Jane asked curiously.
"Lorelei, a Enchantress." Sif's face looked a little ugly, "The one who used her voice to charm Nine Realms six hundred years ago. She escaped from the dungeon during the Dark Elves invasion."
"Heimdall saw her whereabouts?" Thor's expression became serious.
"Yes, at Midgard." Sif glanced at Jane, "She passed through a secret passage left by Loki. Now she is enjoying her 'queen' life at Las Vegas."
"Damn it." Thor clenched his fists, "Midgard's men can't resist her magic. If she doesn't stop her, she will cause trouble there."
"So I came to say goodbye to Odin." Sif put away his sword, "I will go and capture her. This is my duty."
"No."
Thor suddenly raised his hand, interrupting Sif.
"I'll go."
Sif was stunned for a moment, then raised an eyebrow, with a joke in his eyes that only old acquaintances could understand.
"Are you going?" Sif crossed his arms and looked between Thor and Jane, "Are you sure? Thor. If I remember correctly, six hundred years ago, you almost threw Mjolnir into the void for that Enchantress."
Jane's radar activated instantly, and she squinted her eyes and looked at Thor: "Six hundred years ago? Almost threw the hammer?"
"Ahem!"
Thor coughed twice violently, and a trace of embarrassing blush appeared on his face. He avoided Jane's eyes in a panic, and turned to glare at Sif.
"That's all in the past! I was young and ignorant at that time!"
"Really?" Sif sneered, "Lorelei's charm technique targets men's mental weaknesses. Are you sure you can resist that kind of 'ex-girlfriend' level temptation?"
"She is not my ex-girlfriend!" Thor retorted loudly, his voice echoing in the hall, "Besides, I am already immune to her magic!"
He stretched out his hand and put his arm around Jane's shoulders, as if to express his determination.
"My heart has already belonged to me. To me, Lorelei's voice is now... like the noise of Heimdall's broken sword scraping against the shield."
Jane blushed a little at this sudden confession, and the jealousy that originally arose dissipated.
"Besides," Thor said sternly, "Jian Jian returns to Earth, and I must escort her. By the way, I can capture that Enchantress and kill two birds with one stone."
Sif looked at this scene and rolled his eyes, but there was an imperceptible loneliness in his eyes.
"Okay, eldest prince." She turned around, not wanting to see these two people showing off their affection. "Since you insist on going, then it's up to you. But don't expect me to save you."
"I don't need help." Thor confidently picked up the Mjolnir on the table and weighed it in his hands. "This time, I will let her know that Thor will not look back."
Over Atlantic Ocean.
Tony·Stark is holding a bag of dried blueberries in his hand and throwing them into his mouth one after another.
"JARVIS, fix that damn autopilot. I almost spilled my coffee on my pants when I was passing through the airflow just now."
"Sir, that is to avoid the civil aviation radar below." JARVIS's voice was steady.
There was no tense atmosphere in the cabin, but instead there was a sense of relaxation, like going on a spring outing.
"Seriously, Tony." Hawkeye was lying on his back on the seat, his eyes slightly narrowed and he seemed to be enjoying himself.
"The seats on your new plane actually have a massage function? Are you planning to turn this place into a mobile SPA?"
"This is the humanistic care of Stark Industries, Barton."
"Fighting is tiring enough, why should I treat my butt badly? Besides, if I have backache while flying to beat someone, it will affect my aiming accuracy."
He turned his head and looked at Bruce·Banner and Natasha·Romanoff sitting opposite.
Banner is reading a book, a book as thick as a brick called "Quantum Field Theory", while Natasha is whispering next to him. The two of them are sitting very close to each other, with their knees almost touching.
"Hey, doctor." Tony opened a can of Coke, his eyes full of gossip, "You have been staring at the same page of that book for twenty minutes. What? The formulas on it are difficult to understand? Or... the scenery next to it is too charming?"
Banner's face turned red instantly, and he closed the book hurriedly. "I'm thinking, Tony. About... about the energy wavelength of that scepter."
"Okay, Tony." Natasha raised her head with a gentle smile in her eyes. She did not fight back against Tony Stark as usual, but folded her legs generously, "We are discussing classical music. Bruce feels that Beethoven is more powerful than Mozart. I think he is right."
"Oh - classical music." Tony prolonged his tone and winked at Barton, "Did you hear that, Feijiu. This is called the advanced level of flirting. You will only discuss tractor maintenance with Laura."
"Hey! That's also a kind of romance!" Barton turned around to protest.
There was a burst of relaxed laughter in the cabin.
Since Avengers existed in name only and everyone went their separate ways, this long-lost sense of teamwork made them feel relaxed. This mission was more like a gathering of old friends.
