Background / History

Tony fought in the Battle of New York in his red-and-gold Iron Man armor, engaging Chitauri Leviathans with palm repulsors. He was initially dismissive of the newly arrived Homelander, calling him a “cosplay” hero, but watched him destroy a Leviathan at supersonic speed. 1 2

When a nuclear missile was launched at Manhattan, Tony attempted to carry it through the portal himself. Homelander took the missile from him, destroyed the Chitauri mothership, and returned with abducted children; Tony was left grateful, impressed, and frustrated at having his sacrifice and spotlight taken from him. 4 5
