Everyone looked up.
A S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft, The Bus, landed on the pad outside.
The hatch opened, and a group hurried in.
At their head was an elderly white man in a black trench coat. He had only one eye, but that did nothing to diminish his grim presence.
Behind him came Skye, Coulson, and his S.H.I.E.L.D. Team.
"Stop!"
Steve raised a hand, signaling them to halt.
The Vought security guards immediately raised their weapons and aimed at the uninvited guests.
"State your business," Steve said sternly.
"I'm Nick Fury."
The old man spoke with that familiar voice and the same arrogance that made people want to punch him.
"What?" Tony blinked, then scoffed. "Huh? Nick Fury? You might as well tell me you're M.J."
Natasha chimed in. "Exactly. Fury is Black and wanted by the authorities. And your face doesn't look like it's disguised."
Steve, meanwhile, had his eyes on Coulson.
"...Coulson? Weren't you dead?"
"It's a long story, Captain." Coulson raised both hands to show he meant no harm, an awkward smile on his face. "But I really am alive. More or less."
"I know you have a lot of questions. Why am I white? Why is Coulson still alive? Why am I here?" Fury cut in.
"But now isn't the time for stories." He swept his gaze over the room. "Because I'm not sure who around me I can trust."
"We need to get aboard."
"No." Tony refused outright. "You say you're Fury, so you're Fury? I could say I'm Bruce Wayne."
"These are extraordinary times. No suspicious person is getting near this ship."
