The officers left behind had already descended into chaos.

"Report, Commander! Emergency! The life signs of the First and Second Legions have all dropped to zero!"

An officer frantically hammered at the console with both hands, cold sweat soaking through his uniform.

"How could this happen?!" The officer's eyes were filled with terror.

"Commander! There's something else strange!" another noncommissioned officer responsible for monitoring planetary energy reported loudly.

"The gravitational field is changing! The core energy readings are abnormal! An unknown energy is eroding our Omega Network!"

"What?!" The officer on duty grabbed the sergeant by the collar. "Impossible! Absolutely impossible!! No one can lay a hand on Lord Darkseid's power!"

"It's true! Look, sir!" The sergeant pointed at the main screen.

Within the holographic three-dimensional model representing Apokolips's energy distribution, the once-pure dark-red energy network was rapidly being divided and devoured by countless blue threads.

Those blue threads spread upward through the energy conduits like a viral infection.

"Contact the great Darkseid immediately!" Realizing that the situation had completely spiraled out of control, the officer roared himself hoarse.

Several communications officers immediately activated the transdimensional communications array.
