Darren Cross gave Homelander little time to think.
Once the enraged Beast steadied himself, he charged again like a wasp.
Homelander pressed the button on his index finger and entered the microscopic world in an entirely new way.
Two tiny figures began a deadly chase through gaps in the lab bench and a tangle of cables.
"Quick, over here!"
During a lull in the fighting, old Pym rushed to Hope, wrapped an arm around his daughter's shoulders, and helped her up from the cold floor.
"Hope, hang on. Come with me!" Pym led her to a storage cabinet.
Hope gritted her teeth. The burn on her right ankle sent pain stabbing through her with every step.
Pym quickly took a first-aid kit from the cabinet, pulled out a potent burn gel, spread it evenly over the wound, then wrapped it in sterile gauze.
"He won't last long, Father!" Worry filled Hope's voice as she watched lasers and sparks flash nearby. "He's never trained for microscopic combat. We have to help him!"
"That suit performs perfectly." Pym lowered his head and continued securing the gauze. "He's smarter than we thought. All we can do now is trust him. He can handle this."
On the microscopic battlefield, Darren's attacks grew wilder.
"Is running all you can do, Starr Group lapdog?" Darren unleashed a furious barrage from midair.
Homelander rolled several times and landed on the rim of an enormous glass vessel.
He glanced at the device behind him. It was the Quantum Centrifuge Hank Pym used to refine unstable compounds, and it was packed with highly unstable, high-energy particles.
"Right here." Homelander smiled coldly.
He stopped and deliberately left himself open.
"Die!" Darren roared. All four mechanical arms lit up blue, and laser beams blasted from them at full power.
Homelander pushed
