After comforting Skye, Homelander looked up.
The mountain carrying the entire Inhuman Village was hurtling down toward him with unstoppable force.
In the past, even with the strength to push anything away, Homelander could not have stopped a mountain breaking apart on this scale.
The moment he applied force, he would have punched straight through the rock like a needle through tofu. He could never have supported the entire loose structure.
But now things were different.
Holding Skye with one arm, Homelander flew straight toward the falling peak.
He stopped beneath the edge of the fractured slab and raised his free right hand, pressing his palm firmly against its underside.
"Up!"
Homelander gave a low shout.
The immense Force within him surged through his palm. Like a vast net, it spread across and enveloped the slab's entire underside in an instant.
The Force distributed the load evenly, eliminating the problem of pressure concentrated at a single point.
Coulson's group and all the Inhuman villagers had been waiting in despair for the end.
Then they felt the ground, which had been shaking violently as it fell, come to a sudden stop.
And something even more incredible happened.
The ground, tilted more than sixty degrees, began to rise slowly, leveling out little by little.
Coulson lay at the edge and craned his head over, staring down in disbelief.
The Inhuman villagers rushed to the edge of the fracture and looked down too.
There, suspended in midair, was a man in a Stars and Stripes Cape, holding Skye in one arm.
With his other hand, he held aloft a slab of mountain weighing tens of millions of tons!
He looked like a god!
"Oh my God..."
One villager's legs gave way. He dropped to his knees, his eyes full of awe.
"It's Homelander..."
