The camera zoomed in.
People around the world saw the village flying through the air.
They saw the wreckage of collapsed houses and the villagers in disarray.
The camera tilted down for a close-up of Homelander.
Only then did everyone realize who they were seeing.
"It's Homelander! My God, what's he doing?! Is he flying with an entire mountain?!"
"He's not moving a mountain. He's saving people!"
"Was there an earthquake in that village? Did he pick up the whole village, ground and all?!"
"That's Homelander for you. His way of saving people is simple and direct!"
"Who are those people? They don't look ordinary. Some of them are dressed strangely."
"Who cares who they are? If they're human, Homelander will save them! That's our God of Humanity!"
Countless people applauded and cheered for Homelander in front of their screens.
Soon, Homelander carried the village to a vast stretch of wasteland outside a town in New York State.
He lowered his altitude, carefully controlling the descent.
Boom—
The ground shook violently with a muffled thud.
The enormous slab of bedrock settled steadily onto the wasteland, sending dust rolling outward like a ring of white surf.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this flight has landed safely," Homelander announced. "Welcome to America."
Only then did the villagers dare let go. They rose shakily to their feet and looked out at the unfamiliar American plains, still feeling as though none of this was real.
Whirrrrr—
Before the villagers could fully recover, a dense roar of engines came from the sky.
More than a dozen Vought rescue transports flew in from the horizon and landed one after another on open ground around the village.
The doors opened.
Out came heroes in striking uniforms of every color.
Close behind them came a large contingent of Vought
