"What's going on with my abilities?"
Saiki Kusuo did not speak, yet his voice appeared directly in Shen He's mind.
"I think I know why."
Shen He looked somewhat helplessly at the virtual panel before him.
After the summoning succeeded, a three-dimensional image of Saiki Kusuo appeared on the panel, with a clearly visible "Level 1" displayed prominently above it.
And when he tapped the enhancement button beside it, it showed "Insufficient fodder."
Alright, it meant there were not enough enhancement stones.
"I see."
Saiki Kusuo had already obtained the answer from Shen He's thoughts.
Or rather, only then did he realize that his mind already contained some basic information about the Summoning System and the Master before him.
Clearly, this time, he was not the protagonist.
"Um..." After his initial excitement, Shen He had calmed down as well. "Let's find somewhere to eat coffee pudding first. We can talk about everything else slowly."
Playing to someone's preferences really was an adult form of socializing.
Saiki Kusuo said, "Lead the way."
In the end, the two of them found the rooftop of a tall building.
While Saiki Kusuo enjoyed his favorite coffee pudding, Shen He explained the current situation.
"...That's about it. I know this world's plot. In a few years, half of all life will die because of some alien." Shen He raised his head and gazed at the white clouds in the sky. "I'm not from this world, and if I had to put it bluntly, I don't have any resolve to save others. But... unlike you, what I hope for now is an exciting life."
He knew perfectly well that Saiki Kusuo could hear his thoughts, so there was nothing to hide.
Since he had come to a world like this and gained abilities like these, he should cherish them properly.
Saiki Kusuo had already finished the last cup of coffee pudding and could not help savoring the aftertaste. The rich aroma of coffee beans blended perfectly with the sweetness of milk, and combined with its smooth, tender texture, he had to admit that it was the best coffee pudding he had ever eaten.
Unfortunately, it was already gone.
"How can the contract be lifted?" Saiki Kusuo turned his head.
"...There's no way." Shen He sighed softly. "You're my first ultra-rare Servant, and currently my only Servant. If you don't help, my start will be very difficult."
The remaining nine advanced summons had all been used, and no more Servants had appeared. There was no countdown for the Summoning Stone reset either, which meant that until he found a way to obtain Summoning Stones, he could only rely on Saiki Kusuo.
And as the Master, he had one chance per day to issue a forced command, which could be accumulated up to three times.
But unless there was truly no other option, he really did not want to do that. It was obviously the worst possible choice.
"I just don't want attention." Saiki Kusuo heard Shen He's thoughts clearly. He turned to look behind them. "Trouble has already arrived."
Patient Persuasion (Revised)
Behind them, a group of people in black suits and sunglasses were quietly emerging.
With Saiki Kusuo's abilities, he should have teleported away before they even reached the rooftop. But now, he was not an overpowered max-level god—he was a level-one newbie.
