In the original storyline, after the Winter Soldier blew Fury's car over, there happened to be a sewer beneath him. Fury only needed to use his laser cutter to dig through it and escape quickly.

Now, because of The Butterfly Effect, the place where the car had stopped was quite different from before, and the sewer's position had shifted somewhat.

The thickness Fury needed to dig through had increased considerably.

If Black Widow had not come to save him, Fury would have long since been killed by the Winter Soldier.

Fortunately, Fury still managed to dig through the sewer. As the concrete beneath his feet loosened, he fell through with a thud.

Black Widow emptied the entire magazine of her rifle at the Winter Soldier, forcing him to take cover.

Taking advantage of the opening, she sprang forward like a carp, leaping into the Mercedes compartment and dropping into the sewer.

The instant Black Widow jumped in, several RPG rounds flew over and blasted the black Mercedes and Black Widow's sports car into the air.

The two vehicles rolled several times before their fuel tanks exploded, and blazing flames immediately engulfed their bodies.
