Apocalypse smiled. "If your skills were inferior, then you deserved the beating."
Apocalypse's words were like kicking a hornet's nest. Even the mild-tempered Sif slowly drew her longsword, ready to judge this Earthling who had insulted the prince.
Apocalypse stood up. "Looks like this won't end peacefully unless we have a fight."
Thor laughed loudly. "Heh heh, Tang, I don't have my divine power, so I can't get revenge myself for now. But they're my subordinates. If they beat you up, it counts as me beating you up. Hahaha..."
Knowing that his father was not dead had put Thor in a great mood, and his goofy side could no longer be suppressed.
Apocalypse shrugged. "Then if I beat them up, it's the same as slapping your face, right?"
Hogun had the hottest temper. He immediately drew his spiked mace and prepared to fight.
Thor stopped him. "Let's go outside town. Don't destroy other people's homes."
Though they were not peak powerhouses on Thor's level, they were still Asgardians. If they fought in the center of town, they might destroy the entire place.
They arrived at the wilderness outside town.
Hogun charged forward, swinging his spiked mace. "Let me teach you a lesson first."
With a light smack, the spiked mace was caught directly by Apocalypse and could not move an inch.
The spikes that could pierce steel plates could not even break Apocalypse's skin.
"Come at me together. Don't waste time."
Seeing that move, Sif and the others finally realized that the Eastern man before them was anything but simple. They did not dare underestimate him and drew their weapons, closing in from all sides.
Sif wielded a sword and was the most agile, taking the frontal assault.
Hogun wielded a spiked mace, while Fandral used a meteor hammer, attacking from both sides to restrain him.
Volstagg was powerfully built and wielded a greatsword, attacking from behind.
In an instant, the most effective attack formation took shape.
Apocalypse nodded inwardly. As expected of Thor's most elite squad. Those who could fight their way into the Frost Giants' lair were indeed no weaklings.
But that was what made it interesting!
Apocalypse flashed away, escaping the range of attacks from both sides and behind, then threw a punch at Sif.
Sif held her sword horizontally before her, one hand gripping the hilt and the other pressing against the tip.
Apocalypse felt as though his punch had struck a spring. The blade bent into a semicircle, then rebounded with a bang. Sif slid backward dozens of meters, dispersing the force of the punch.
Asgard's divine warriors truly were not so simple. This punch alone revealed it—they were far more nimble than the opponents Apocalypse had faced before.
Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg's attacks arrived from behind. The spiked mace, meteor hammer, and greatsword all came at Apocalypse's back.
Apocalypse extended two fingers and clamped Volstagg's greatsword between them, making Volstagg's eyes widen in shock. How was that possible?
The meteor hammer came flying along a bizarre trajectory. Apocalypse tilted his head and dodged it.
At the same time, he flicked his fingers. Volstagg's greatsword flew from his grasp and slammed into Hogun's spiked mace.
With a crisp metallic clang, the greatsword flew far away. Hogun's hand went numb from the impact, and his spiked mace nearly slipped from his grip.
In just a few exchanges, the four were forced back or disarmed, and their assault abruptly stalled.
Hogun reined in his temper. "No wonder you gave Thor two black eyes. With strength like that, you do have the right to be arrogant."
Thor rolled his eyes. This guy really had to bring up the one thing he did not want mentioned.
Sif jogged back, and they once again formed an encirclement.
This time, they did not dare look down on Apocalypse again.
Flames slowly lit up along Sif's sword, flowing continuously over the blade as if alive.
Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg's weapons also began glowing yellow as they prepared to use the unique divine power of Asgardian warriors.
"Hah!"
With a sharp cry, Sif thrust her longsword directly at Apocalypse.
Before the blade even reached him, the skin on Apocalypse's chest turned scorching hot, and a small patch was burned black.
"Ha ha ha ha, good!" Apocalypse laughed. "This is the battle I wanted."
Before this, every battle Apocalypse had encountered had involved physical attacks. The strength of his body had already been proven to surpass even top powerhouses like Thor.
Only nonphysical methods such as divine power, sorcery, and magic had yet to be encountered.
Today, he would see just what was so extraordinary about these attacks.
Apocalypse tried to repeat the same move, pinching toward Sif's longsword with two fingers.
Unexpectedly, Sif neither dodged nor retreated. She swung her sword straight down, and the force that had previously clamped Volstagg's greatsword vanished like a mud ox sinking into the sea, finding nothing to grip.
Sif's sword cut straight down and sliced open Apocalypse's palm.
A gash extended from his index and middle fingers all the way to his wrist. Had he not withdrawn quickly, half his palm would have nearly been cut off.
Fortunately, Apocalypse's recovery ability was astonishing.
The flesh on both sides healed at a visible speed. His muscles seemed like tiny living worms, growing toward one another and desperately pulling the bones and flesh back together.
Sif and the other three were all battle-hardened warriors. They would not foolishly wait for Apocalypse to recover. Each moved in a different direction and attacked him.
Apocalypse was in no hurry to decide the victor. He countered each move as it came, carefully experiencing how these divine power attacks worked.
Sif and the others knew Apocalypse was powerful, but after fighting all their lives, it was not as if they had never encountered powerful opponents.
With perfect coordination, they employed hit-and-run tactics, striking and retreating at once, never clashing head-on with Apocalypse in a contest of strength.
However, Apocalypse's power was not so easily deflected. Often, after one punch, the four divine warriors had to slide back over a hundred meters to disperse the tremendous force.
For a time, within a radius of a thousand meters, yellow dust filled the air, thunderous booms rolled continuously, and huge craters were blasted into the ground by immense force and divine power.
The five of them created a spectacle grand enough for a melee of a thousand men.
Luckily, they were not fighting in the center of town. Otherwise, the entire town would have been destroyed.
However, two fists could not beat four hands, let alone eight. As time passed, more and more wounds appeared on Apocalypse's body.
Seeing this, Thor shouted, "Brothers, don't go for the kill! He's my friend on Earth."
Apocalypse smiled. "Thor, who knows who will be holding back?"
After saying that, he vanished from where he stood with a bang!
Apocalypse's ultimate technique—Supersonic Ultimate Attack!
This was an attack method he had comprehended at Hammer's press conference last time, making full use of his terrifying strength and monstrous physique.
Unless the person being attacked could react at supersonic speed, all they could do was take the beating.
The first to be attacked was Fandral, who wielded the meteor hammer.
The two meteor hammers flew into the air. Apocalypse forcibly grabbed one in each hand and used the chains to wrap Fandral into a circle.
Apocalypse had targeted the meteor hammers first mainly because the weapon flew around unpredictably, making its attack direction hard to judge. Better to deal with it first.
Looking at his hands again, even defenses that bullets could not penetrate had been punctured with several bloody holes by the meteor hammer's spikes when enhanced with divine power.
It seemed Asgard's ability to rule the Nine Realms meant its divine warriors could not be underestimated.
Seeing that the situation had turned bad, Sif shouted, "Back-to-back!"
The remaining three swiftly pressed their backs together, forming a defensive formation without blind spots.
Apocalypse tested it and found that no matter which direction he attacked from, the person facing him could block first while the two on either side could quickly support them.
For a moment, he could do nothing against them tactically. Unless he crushed them with brute force.
And whenever their weapons, enhanced with divine power, touched him, a patch of his skin would always be scorched.
If Hulk encountered them, as long as he did not foolishly clash with them head-on, he might very well be hunted down by them.
However, they did not know that Hulk had a trump card.
"Hulk attacks!"
