The Frostwing Griffin continued forward along the wind channels between the snow-capped mountains, occasionally folding its wings to glide on the air currents and sweeping across vast valleys in a single motion.
Luo Jiuge gradually ran out of the energy to complain.
Having just finished a battle and then being chased for this long, the meager stamina restored by the healing potion was almost entirely depleted, and she began to doze off while hugging the feathers on the side of the griffin's neck.
It was only when the griffin beneath her suddenly lowered its altitude that she was awakened by the cold wind rushing directly into her face.
Luo Jiuge raised her head and discovered that the scenery below was no longer a completely desolate snowfield.
A narrow valley was wedged between snow peaks on either side, with large patches of dark gray buildings scattered across the valley floor.
Most of the houses were built against the mountain slope, their foundations piled with heavy black stone, topped with wooden beams and sloped roofs weighted down by stones, looking from a distance like layers embedded right into the snow mountain.
Several snow paths, trampled hard, ran through the entire settlement, where long-haired pack beasts could be seen moving slowly while pulling wooden sleds, and several tall wooden racks stood near the mountain wall, draped with animal skins and strings of dried meat.
Higher up, the sight was completely different, with a few huge stone platforms built into the rock face.
Luo Jiuge had not understood what those were for at first, until the Frostwing Griffin beneath her adjusted its direction and dove toward one of them, making her realize that those were landing platforms for griffins.
"Slow down--"
The second half of her sentence was directly blocked back by the wind.
