Background and History

Arrival in the Cosmic Era

Lin Yuan awakens in a military hospital on January 17, C.E. 71, having crossed into the Gundam SEED world and taken over the identity of the 24-year-old Lin Yuan. He inherits the original Lin Yuan’s memories and emotions, while retaining foreknowledge of the major events of the coming war. He is the heir to the Lin military-industrial family and already serves as Director of the Special Equipment Bureau. 1

Embedded in his mind is the Warhammer Technology Tree, a source of advanced technical knowledge. Rather than attempting to avert the coming Heliopolis attack, Lin Yuan treats it as an opportunity: he authorizes the Spark Project to obtain Dawn Society’s G Weapon data amid the chaos. 1 4
