Aftermath of the Summit War: Sengoku Demanded Answers, and an Old Soldier Protected His Own

The smoke of battle had yet to clear from Marineford.

The Whitebeard Pirates' great ship had already vanished.

All that remained across the island of Marineford was scorched rubble.

The golden light around Sengoku slowly faded.

He returned to his original form and stumbled.

A mouthful of blood sprayed from Sengoku's mouth, staining the front of his clothes red.

"Fleet Admiral!"

The nearby medics hurried over to support him.

Sengoku pushed their hands away and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

"Seal off the entire island. Not a word of what happened today is to get out!"

Sengoku pointed at the enormous gap blasted open out at sea, his expression grim.

"And bring me the commanding officer of the heavy artillery position immediately!"

Ten minutes later, inside the hastily erected fleet admiral's command tent.

Zhao Hai held a cup of hot tea, leisurely blowing on the steam.

Someone suddenly ripped the tent flap apart.

Akainu strode into the tent, still trailing flowing magma sludge that had yet to cool.

The sword wound on his right arm was deep enough to expose bone, and blood dripped down his wrist onto the floor.

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku!"

Akainu's voice seethed with anger.

"The ice wall offshore was blasted apart from the inside by heavy artillery!"

"This brat deliberately let Newgate and Ace escape!"

"He must be stripped of his post immediately and thrown into Impel Down!"

Akainu pointed straight at Zhao Hai's nose, radiating murderous intent.

Kuzan sat on a wooden crate nearby with his hands in his pockets.

He glanced at the furious Akainu, then at Zhao Hai leisurely drinking tea, but said nothing.

Zhao Hai set down his teacup without a trace of panic on his face.

He pulled a stack of crumpled records from inside his clothes
