The night had grown late.
The scene before Cui Ciyou changed without warning.
A moment earlier, Cui Ciyou had still been in his warm room at the inn.
He had been considering his plans to visit the Ranoa University of Magic tomorrow.
His heart had been full of anticipation for their long-awaited reunion.
He had even begun picturing the moment in his mind:

They might embrace, they might kiss, they might have endless things to say...
The next moment, everything around him seemed to be painted over in pure white.
The walls, the bed, the table and chairs-everything in the room vanished.
In their place was a boundless, empty Pure White Space.
There was no up or down, left or right here, no passage of time.
There was only an eternal nothingness that made his heart tremble.
"Well, well, little Ciyou. We meet again."
The same old place, the same old acquaintance.
The same location, the same person.
And that same familiar voice.
It seemed to echo from the depths of his soul-that deeply unpleasant, flippant tone, as though its owner were forever looking down on some ridiculous farce.
