"...What is it this time?"
Not long after the battle with the Female Dream Demon ended, a pack of lizards that walked on two hind legs like Velociraptors emerged from the other side of the dunes.
One after another, they headed toward the pair-or rather, came running.
They weren't very big, standing a little over a meter tall, and there were more than a dozen of them.
Several had already started greedily devouring the giant bat carcasses on the ground.
"I've never seen anything so disgusting."
Elinalise raised her longsword warily.
Cui Ciyou gripped his sword hilt too. For now, he would see how things played out.
"So there are monsters even you don't recognize, Elinalise."
"I'm not some monster expert."
Elinalise rolled her eyes at him. She didn't know what the lizards they had encountered that day were called either.
In that case, they were probably a species native to the Begaritt Continent.
The Velociraptors soon noticed them. After sharing the bat carcasses, they still seemed hungry and turned their greedy gazes toward the two "outsiders."
Hissing threateningly, they began circling around both sides, clearly treating the pair as fresh prey.
"Do we look like easy targets to them?" Cui Ciyou sighed helplessly.
These Velociraptors had sharp fangs and were fast, too. An ordinary Adventurer party would probably have had a tough fight on its hands.
That said, they weren't much of a threat to Cui Ciyou and Elinalise.
Elinalise struck first. Like a phantom, she darted into the pack in an instant.
The Sword Flash gleamed, and amid several agonized shrieks, seven Velociraptors lost their heads.
The remaining ten or so immediately grew wary and put plenty of distance between themselves and the pair, eyeing them hungrily but no longer daring to approach.
