Uchiha Ying warmly invited his master, Tobirama Senju, to his home for New Year's Eve dinner. The festive atmosphere was thick in the air, and Uchiha Ying's home had long been carefully decorated with the joyous charm of the holiday.
Bright red lanterns hung high beneath the eaves, exquisite paper cuttings adorned the windows, and the house was filled with a cozy warmth that seemed to keep the winter chill at bay.
Tobirama Senju stepped inside and, seeing the lively scene, felt a long-forgotten sense of warmth rise in his heart. Uchiha Ying eagerly came forward and led his master to the table. It was piled high with sumptuous dishes, their fragrance making one's mouth water. Uchiha Ying beamed as he said, "Master, hurry and try this. I specially prepared these braised pork ribs for you." He pointed to a plate of richly colored, fragrant braised pork ribs, his eyes full of anticipation.
Tobirama Senju nodded slightly and replied with a smile, "All right. Thank you, Ying." He slowly sat down, picked up his chopsticks, and placed a piece of braised pork rib into his mouth. At once, a rich, mellow flavor spread across his tongue. The meat was tender and juicy, with an exquisite texture that lingered on the palate. Tobirama Senju could not help but praise it. "Mm, it tastes wonderful!" He looked at Uchiha Ying, his eyes filled with approval and gratification.
Uchiha Ying laughed happily. "Haha, as long as you like it, Master." Then, he enthusiastically introduced the other dishes to his master. The teacher and disciple savored the food while chatting cheerfully, their laughter echoing through the house.
Tobirama Senju nodded slightly. After taking his seat, he watched Uchiha Ying busily moving about, his eyes full of gratification. As they enjoyed the delicious meal, they reminisced about the past. The days they had fought side by side, the moments when hardship and glory had existed together—all of them had become incomparably precious memories, like brilliant gems set within their hearts.
"Ying, you've grown a great deal," Tobirama Senju said with emotion. Uchiha Ying smiled faintly and humbly replied, "It is all thanks to your excellent guidance, Master."
At the dinner table, Tobirama Senju spoke to Uchiha Inabi with a hint of helplessness. "As for Izuna and Madara, I feel deeply helpless as well. After all, the Senju and Uchiha have been mortal enemies for a long time... But your child, Uchiha Ying, is outstanding." Uchiha Inabi nodded slightly, a trace of relief and pride showing in his eyes.
"Lord Tobirama, Ying has had his own ideas and convictions since childhood. I am deeply gratified that he has earned your recognition."
Tobirama Senju took a small sip of wine, and his thoughts seemed to drift back to those years of raging war and smoke-filled battlefields.
"The hatred of the past kept our two clans fighting without end. Now, seeing the growth of the new generation, I have begun to think that perhaps peace is not so far beyond reach."
Uchiha Ying quietly listened to the elders' conversation, a powerful sense of duty rising in his heart. He knew full well that he bore the responsibility of changing his clan's fate and bringing peace to the Ninja World.
"Master, I will work hard to make the Uchiha Clan and the Senju Clan put aside their hatred and strive together for peace," Uchiha Ying said firmly, his eyes shining with a burning light.
Tobirama Senju looked into those determined eyes and revealed a faint, gratified smile.
"Good. I believe you have that ability. But this road is destined to be filled with hardships and obstacles. You must prepare yourself fully," Tobirama Senju advised earnestly.
"Son, quickly raise a toast to your master," Uchiha Inabi said to Uchiha Ying.
Uchiha Ying quickly lifted his cup and respectfully raised it toward Tobirama Senju.
"Master, your disciple offers you this toast. Thank you for your guidance. I will never disappoint your expectations."
Tobirama Senju nodded slightly and raised his cup, gently clinking it against Uchiha Ying's.
"Ying, everyone can see your talent and hard work. I hope you remain true to your original aspirations and strive for a better future."
Uchiha Ying drained his cup in one gulp, his eyes gleaming with unwavering determination.
"Rest assured, Master. I understand. The Ninja World is turbulent and unstable now. I will certainly do everything in my power and give my all to achieve peace."
Uchiha Inabi looked at the master and disciple, his heart full of emotion. The transformation of an old blood feud into this gave him great hope for the future.
"Lord Tobirama, having you guide Ying is his blessing, and it is also an honor for our Uchiha Clan."
Tobirama Senju set down his cup and slowly said, "Inabi, we should all let go of the hatred of the past and work together to create a peaceful world for the next generation. Only then will our sacrifices and efforts not have been in vain."
As Ying's mother, Uchiha Qin poured wine for her husband, her child, and her child's master, Tobirama Senju. A gentle smile adorned her face, and her eyes were full of love for her family and beautiful hopes for the future.
"Lord Tobirama, thank you for teaching Ying so carefully. Our whole family is deeply grateful to you," Uchiha Qin said softly, her voice gentle and sincere.
Tobirama Senju nodded slightly in response. "It is what I should do. Ying is a child with tremendous potential. I believe he will bring new hope to the Ninja World."
Uchiha Ying looked at his mother, warmth surging through his heart. "Mother, you've worked hard. All these years, you have silently supported Father and me."
Uchiha Qin stroked Ying's head and gently said, "Silly child, as long as you are all well, I am satisfied."
Uchiha Inabi took his wife's hand, his eyes full of deep affection.
"Qin, our family must work hard together and strive tirelessly for a peaceful future."
At that moment, fireworks blossomed brilliantly outside once more, their dazzling colors lighting up the entire night sky. Everyone in the house was immersed in the warm and beautiful atmosphere, their hearts filled with confidence and courage for the future. They knew that although the road ahead was full of challenges, as long as they stood united, they would surely achieve their dream of peace.
As night gradually fell, Uchiha Inabi and Tobirama Senju decided to go out for a walk after sharing a lavish dinner. They strolled to the highest peak of Hokage Rock in the village and looked down over the entire settlement. The cool night breeze gently brushed against them, bringing a refreshing sense of comfort while also clearing their minds and sharpening their thoughts.
They stood quietly atop the peak, their gazes sweeping across the village below. The lights of the village flickered like dazzling stars in the night sky. Every light represented a family, a life, and together, these lights formed the vibrant and thriving Konoha Village.
Uchiha Inabi sighed. "Once, our two clans fought without end. Now, seeing this peaceful scene, I cannot help but feel deeply moved."
Tobirama Senju nodded slightly in agreement. "Yes. Peace did not come easily. We should all cherish it all the more."
"Lord Tobirama, I believe that through our joint efforts, this village will only grow better and better." Uchiha Inabi's eyes were filled with determination.
Tobirama Senju looked at him, the same resolve showing in his eyes. "That's right. We must continue striving for the next generation and for peace throughout the entire Ninja World."
"Want a cigarette?" Uchiha Inabi asked Tobirama. "Sure, give me one," Tobirama Senju replied.
After taking a drag, Tobirama Senju sighed. "Before I knew it, I've grown old too." Holding the cigarette between his fingers, he said to Uchiha Inabi, "If Uchiha Ying reaches Kage-level strength, I will have the Senju Clan support the Uchiha Clan. With our two clans united, Uchiha Ying will become the Third Hokage. If the Senju Clan declines by then, help me take care of the young Tsunade."
Uchiha Inabi nodded solemnly. "Rest assured, Lord Tobirama. If that day comes, my Uchiha Clan will certainly not fail your trust. I also believe Ying has that ability and sense of responsibility."
They fell silent again, their eyes still fixed on the village. Smoke curled upward in the wind, as though carrying their worries and hopes for the future.
"Lord Tobirama, although the current situation appears calm, undercurrents are stirring. We must pave the way for the children so they can grow up in a relatively stable environment," Uchiha Inabi said, breaking the silence.
Tobirama Senju narrowed his eyes slightly. "That's right. We have experienced too much war and suffering. We cannot let the next generation repeat our mistakes. Uchiha Ying has talent and resolve. So long as he is guided properly, he will accomplish great things."
They stood atop Hokage Rock for a long time, their thoughts as complicated as the curling smoke, yet also like dust swept up by the wind, scattering in every direction. When the last wisp of smoke vanished into the breeze, they seemed to have made up their minds as well—to give everything for the village's future and for the children's future.
