Ever since Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban, that disgraceful record had been added to Fudge's name.
Fudge had not slept well for a single day. Rita Skeeter of the Daily Prophet took digs at him every day, and not a single word was anything he wanted to hear.

Kingsley and Dawlish had also been responsible for hunting Sirius Black. Now that they had found him, how could they possibly let him go?
"Stupefy!" Two exceptionally sharp spells shot toward Sirius Black.
If they hit, forget escaping—even lifting the curse would be a huge problem.

With a muffled bang, both fierce spells were deflected some distance away from Sirius Black, as if they had struck a pane of glass.
"What are you doing?" Kingsley immediately spotted Eli holding his Wand level. Within several meters, aside from them, only Eli had a Wand in hand.
"You are aiding a criminal. You are defying the Ministry of Magic!" Dawlish strode forward with a righteous expression, Wand in hand, his eyes sharp and his manner aggressive.
"Don't do this, Dawlish. He's just a child!" Kingsley immediately reached out to stop Dawlish. As his colleague, he could tell Dawlish was about to attack.
Dawlish shot Kingsley a sidelong glance, pursed his lips, and snorted through his nose. "Even if he's a child, I should teach him some manners!"
He lazily pointed his Wand at Eli. "Expelliarmus." This red light was far weaker than the spell that had just attacked Sirius Black.
