History

Founding in the Inner Academy

Fa Wutian founded the Nine Heavens Pavilion after the Sky Wolf Gang attempted to extort Fire Energy from new Inner Academy students. Rather than merely recovering the stolen Fire Energy, he proposed uniting the newcomers into a faction capable of resisting established groups. He named it for its intended future: to “soar straight into the nine heavens.” 23

The pavilion rapidly attracted recruits, including Han Yue and Lin Yan. Han Yue's prior experience founding Moon Spirit made her especially valuable as an administrator, while Fa Wutian became the faction's undisputed Pavilion Master through his strength and protection of its members. 23 24

Establishing a Pill Business

With the initial 5,000 Fire Energy Fa Wutian supplied nearly exhausted, Han Yue imposed a joining fee equal to two days of Fire Energy. The policy brought in both newcomers and older students, providing temporary operating funds. 24

Fa Wutian secured a more sustainable income source by refining Fourth-Rank Purefire Pills, which remove the fire poison accumulated through cultivation in the Burning Sky Qi Refining Tower. Han Yue organized their sale at 2,000 Fire Energy per pill and established a sales hall to advertise them across the Inner Academy. 24

The Purefire Pill business provoked the Medicine Gang, leading to an alchemy duel between Fa Wutian and its leader, Liu Yu. Fa Wutian won by refining a marked Healing Hui Pill, forcing the Medicine Gang to surrender one-third of its pill-market share and cease its provocations. 27 28

Recruitment and Growth

After gaining market share, the pavilion faced a production shortage because Fa Wutian was its only alchemist. He traveled to the Black-Corner Region to recruit independent alchemists, eventually convincing Ouyang Feng and several of Ouyang's associates to join. 29 31

Fa Wutian negotiated with Su Qian to bring the recruits into the Inner Academy, though the pavilion had to surrender twenty percent of its annual profits to the academy. The recruited alchemists were assigned to refine pills using pavilion-provided medicinal herbs. 31

Under Fa Wutian's resources and guidance, the Nine Heavens Pavilion grew into a major Inner Academy force. By the time Fa Wutian reached Nine-Star Dou Spirit, it possessed dozens of Dou Spirit experts; Han Yue and Lin Yan had respectively reached Five-Star and Four-Star Dou Spirit. 36

Suppression and Retaliation

During Fa Wutian's presumed death following his attempt to devour the Fallen Heart Flame, Zi Yan left the academy and established factions moved against the pavilion. Led by the Sky Wolf Gang, they seized its territory and resources, while many ordinary members defected. Han Yue preserved the pavilion's core strength despite severe losses. 41

After returning as a Dou King, Fa Wutian treated the defections as a purge of disloyal members. He summoned the factions that had suppressed the pavilion, accepted compensation from those who yielded, and singled out the Sky Wolf Gang for harsher retaliation. 42

Fa Wutian ordered Deputy Pavilion Master Zi to reclaim all territory seized by the Sky Wolf Gang and restrict its businesses, placing the gang on course to be absorbed by the pavilion. 43

Departure and Re-establishment

Upon graduating from Canaan Academy, Fa Wutian announced that he would establish the Nine Heavens Pavilion beyond the academy, first in the Northwest Continent and eventually in the Central Plains. His Inner Academy followers pledged to seek him out after their own graduations. 43

After returning to the Gama Empire as a Four-Star Dou Emperor, Fa Wutian established a new Nine Heavens Pavilion on a mountain outside the Imperial Capital. Ouyang Feng recruited for it through the Alchemist Association, with rare pill formulas below the fifth rank offered as joining incentives. 47

Jia Xing Tian attacked the new pavilion out of fear that it would become a rival force comparable to the Yunlan Sect. Their battle destroyed much of the newly constructed base, leaving Fa Wutian to focus on rebuilding after Jia Xing Tian's death. 48 50
