Background / History

Li Xiao was the master of Thunder Martial Hall and Zhang Yao’s longtime rival. Their enmity dated back at least ten years, when Zhang had humiliated him; Li Xiao remained determined to repay that grievance once he had surpassed Zhang’s cultivation. 9 13

He entered an alliance with the Feng Household, accepting a pill that allowed him to cross from Dark Force into Transformation Force. Although he publicly pledged loyalty to Feng Jiaqi, he privately despised the young master and intended to discard the Feng Household once it was no longer useful. 9

Following Gu De’s failed raids on the Qin Household, Li Xiao showed no grief at his subordinate’s death. He identified Gu De’s fatal wound as the work of a powerful martial artist, then used an air palm to destroy the corpse. 13

Personality

Li Xiao was ambitious, vindictive, and intensely prideful. His breakthrough into Transformation Force convinced him that Chi City belonged to him; he regarded weaker martial artists as beneath consideration and sought to turn power into political dominance. 13 17

He was also calculating when dealing with stronger patrons. Before Feng Jiaqi, Li Xiao performed loyalty despite privately resenting the Feng Household’s control over him. His confidence ultimately rested on externally obtained power, and that arrogance collapsed into fear when Lu Fan revealed vastly greater Transformation Force. 9 30 32

His cruelty was especially apparent in his treatment of Zhang Yao. Rather than simply defeat his old rival, Li Xiao threatened Zhang Yao’s wife and daughter to provoke and humiliate him. 31

Feng Household–Thunder Martial Hall Alliance

Li Xiao’s Transformation Force breakthrough publicly established the alliance between Thunder Martial Hall and the Feng Household. At the Qin Household banquet, his presence enabled Feng Jiaqi to demand control of the Qin family’s pill business and intimidate the assembled factions into silence. 17

Conflict with Chen Liu

When Lu Fan, disguised as Chen Liu, intervened at the banquet, Li Xiao failed to defeat him despite his superior realm. Chen Liu neutralized Li Xiao’s attacks, injured his chest in a direct clash, and forced him to reconsider continuing the battle. 19 20

Li Xiao subsequently investigated Chen Liu’s identity, recruited Blackstone Martial Hall disciples into Thunder Martial Hall, and treated the masked elder as the only meaningful threat to his control of Chi City. 21 24

Attack on Blackstone Martial Hall and Death

Li Xiao personally joined the assault on Blackstone Martial Hall, where he defeated the exhausted Zhang Yao after provoking him with threats against his family. 31

Lu Fan then revealed his own Transformation Force cultivation. Li Xiao’s Force barriers and techniques proved useless against Lu Fan’s superior reserves and control; when Li Xiao attempted to bargain with information about the breakthrough pill, Lu Fan killed him by destroying his heart. 32 33
