Cultivation Principles

• A Martial Soul's established reputation does not necessarily dictate every wielder's optimal path. Gu Ling accepts that Gu Rong's Bone Dragon became a premier defensive Martial Soul, but rejects the idea that this makes defense the Bone Dragon's only viable development. 1
• A Soul Ring is effectively permanent once absorbed, making compatibility a long-term cultivation decision rather than a temporary upgrade. 5
• Soul Masters have only nine Soul Ring slots; Gu Ling argues that abilities a Martial Soul already possesses naturally should not be redundantly duplicated through Soul Skills. 6

Notable Manifestation: Bone Dragon

The Bone Dragon is a rare dragon-type Martial Soul whose skeletal form combines heavy bone armor with innate offensive armaments. It manifests as a pale dragon phantom with curved horns, hollow eyes lit by ghostly flames, skeletal wings, claws, and a vertebrae-like tail. 2 32

• Pale bone armor covers the wielder's arms and vital areas during Martial Soul Possession. 2 15
