"General, General!"
Before Mi Hua could carry his beautiful wife into the house, a servant came stumbling in.
Seeing the servant acting so recklessly and ruining his fun, Mi Hua's expression turned cold. He set down his beautiful wife and barked, "What kind of behavior is this?! Is the sky falling or something?!"
The servant tremblingly held up a box and stammered, "General, this... this is a gift someone specifically asked to be delivered to you..."
"A gift?" Mi Hua was curious. Other than Prince Xue Xing, hardly anyone ever sent him gifts.
"Do you know who sent it?"
"N-No." The servant trembled with fear, terrified that the general would cut him down in anger.
"Get lost!" Mi Hua snapped impatiently when he saw how frightened the servant was.
He was the dignified deputy general, after all. Though his rank was not particularly high, his residence was no place for just any stray cat or dog.
What could possibly be inside a mere box to frighten a servant so badly?
"General~" The glamorous woman stepped forward, wrapped her arms around Mi Hua's arm, and gently swayed it as she coquettishly pleaded.
"You're such a little tease." Mi Hua lightly slapped her shapely rear, a wicked grin on his face.
Then,
he opened the box and saw several portraits inside—or rather, photographs.
These could only have been taken with something called a camera, an invention Spirit Hall had introduced a few months ago. The images were lifelike, something ordinary people could never paint.
Mi Hua considered himself fairly discerning and recognized them at once.
But in the next second, his smile froze.
Seeing that Mi Hua's expression had turned ugly—even grim—the glamorous woman gathered her courage and glanced at the photographs.
"Ah!"
She quickly let out a scream, clearly badly frightened.
