Background / History

Angewomon first appears when Dongfang Yu awakens his martial soul. Her humanoid form and sacred aura shock the onlookers, with Yue Guan considering her presence stronger than the renowned Six-Winged Angel 1. To conceal her true name, Dongfang Yu introduces the martial soul to Bibi Dong as the Holy Maiden 2.

For much of Dongfang Yu’s early cultivation, Angewomon appears inert. However, after he confides in her about his fear of Bibi Dong’s control, one of her fingers subtly moves—an early sign that she is not truly lifeless 10.

Her consciousness fully awakens after Dongfang Yu absorbs the Qiluo Tulip. Now possessing eight wings and a physical body, she confronts him over his earlier unwanted touching, knocks Yue Guan unconscious, and reveals that she was forcibly made into Dongfang Yu’s martial soul. Her freedom depends on helping him cultivate to godhood 38.

Angewomon subsequently guides Dongfang Yu through the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, protects him during the absorption of the Star Anise Mysterious Ice Grass and Inferno Apricot Delicate, and offers limited protection in future life-threatening situations 39 40.
