Background / History

Dongfang Yu is a transmigrator who became an orphan after his parents' deaths. Yue Guan rescued him and brought him to Spirit Hall, where he spent six years awaiting his martial-soul awakening. Before the ceremony, he considered seeking Tang San's protection if he proved talentless, but felt guilty over abandoning Yue Guan after being saved by him 1.

His awakening instead produced Angewomon, an extraordinary angelic humanoid martial soul whose aura was judged stronger than the Six-Winged Angel's. Dongfang Yu publicly renamed it the Holy Maiden when meeting Bibi Dong, concealing its true name and origins 1 2.
