Background

Ye Lingling was introduced as the youngest member of Heaven Dou Royal Academy’s Heaven Dou Tier students. She possessed the rare Nine-Heart Begonia, a top-tier healing Martial Soul, and had level 19 Soul Power at eleven years old despite the cultivation difficulties faced by support-type Soul Masters 23.

At the academy, she joined Yu Tianheng, Dugu Yan, the Shi brothers, Yu Feng, Oslo, and Cao Benqi in the Emperor Team’s tournament training. Her role was to remain behind the frontline and preserve the team’s endurance through healing rather than direct combat 37.

Qin Ming later paired her with Cao Benqi for Soul Ancestor-level two-person matches. Their partnership became the Star Sea Team, named after elements of their Martial Souls 39 41.

Though outwardly aloof, she is proud and conscientious about her role as a healer. During the Star Sea Team’s gambling-arena streak, she repeatedly heals Cao Benqi despite his lack of injuries because she does not want to become a burden 45. She is also capable of anger when provoked, as shown when Feng Ying insults her in the Gambling District 44.

Ye Lingling enters the Heaven Dou Tier as its youngest student and becomes part of the Emperor Team’s future tournament lineup. Her level 19 cultivation and Nine-Heart Begonia establish her as a talented but developing support Soul Master 23.

As the team trains, she reaches level 21 and becomes a Grand Soul Master. Her beauty and distant temperament draw attention from Yu Feng, Oslo, and the Shi brothers 35.

Emperor Team Training

During Qin Ming’s six-against-one practical exercise against Cao Benqi, Ye Lingling stays at the rear with her Martial Soul ready to heal the team. Cao Benqi deliberately avoids striking her when he uses Thousand Mountains Formula to suppress the others, after which she heals the injured team members 37 38.

Star Sea Team and the Great Soul Arenas

Qin Ming pairs Ye Lingling with Cao Benqi for two-person Soul Battles. Despite her worry that her lower cultivation will hinder him, she accepts the partnership; together, they register as the Star Sea Team 39 41.

Battle Against the Shrek Seven Devils

During the Emperor Team’s match against the Shrek Seven Devils, Ye Lingling uses the Nine-Heart Begonia’s Healing Light to rapidly restore Yu Tianheng after he is injured. Following the battle, she openly supports Cao Benqi’s stance toward their opponents despite her normally reserved nature 51 54.
