No sooner had the old man finished speaking than a familiar voice rang out from nearby.
"Yo, you're here already?"
Tang San and Cinderella turned to look. Dai Mubai stood with his arms crossed, leaning against an old tree at the village entrance, an unreadable smile playing on his lips as he watched them.
He had changed into clean clothes. Though his face was still somewhat pale, he looked to be in good spirits. His injuries had clearly healed quickly.
Seeing Dai Mubai here, surprise flashed through Tang San and Cinderella's eyes.
They had not expected that the guy who had clashed with them at the hotel yesterday, and whom Tang San had injured, was actually a student of this academy.
But their surprise lasted only an instant.
Tang San's gaze swept calmly over Dai Mubai's face without any reaction, as though he were looking at an irrelevant stranger.
Cinderella merely gave him an indifferent glance before looking away.
Just a defeated opponent.
It was a thought they both shared.
Whether Dai Mubai was a student here or not did not change the fact that Tang San had defeated him head-on yesterday.
They had little interest in paying attention to someone weaker than themselves.
Dai Mubai choked on their dismissive attitude. He felt a little displeased, but when he considered their talent and the possibility that they might become teammates, he suppressed it.
He stepped forward and gestured for Tang San and Cinderella to follow. "Come on. I'll take you straight to the final test."
His attitude was so natural that it was as if nothing had happened yesterday.
Tang San did not move, merely watching him indifferently.
Dai Mubai rubbed his nose, a helpless yet slightly self-mocking smile appearing on his face.
"Hey, no need to be so guarded,
