Background

Escape from Bibi Dong

Xiao Wu was separated from her mother, A Rou, during Martial Soul Hall’s hunt for the Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft Bone Rabbit. Mortally wounded by Bibi Dong’s Eternal Wound, A Rou used her remaining strength to launch Xiao Wu—newly transformed and powerless—toward the Star Dou Great Forest’s core region. Red King caught Xiao Wu after the Nine-Colored Deer stopped him from attacking her. 34

A Rou’s death and the human pursuit of Soul Beasts left Xiao Wu deeply distrustful of humans. Even after taking human form, she visited human settlements only as long as necessary for cultivation before returning to the Lake of Life, where Da Ming, Er Ming, and the Nine-Colored Deer made her feel safe. 181

Sky Dream’s Sacrifice

At Level 30, Xiao Wu attempted to condense her natural third Soul Ring beside the Lake of Life. Sky Dream Ice Silkworm exploited her vulnerability and forcibly sacrificed itself into her body as a Wisdom Soul Ring, nearly destroying both her body and spiritual world. 218
