History

Creation and early survival

Nuwa created the Human Race at the Shores of the East Sea with Innate Self-Growing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water. After hand-molding the first two humans, she used Lu Chen’s Gourd Vine to create the remaining people, bringing the first generation to three thousand men and women 22.

The newborn humans recognized Nuwa as their Holy Mother and Lu Chen—whose Xi Rang and Gourd Vine were essential to their creation—as their Holy Father. Lu Chen initially received 25% of Human Race fortune, while Nuwa held 70% and the Beating Whip held 5% 23.

Lu Chen remained at the East Sea to protect the fledgling race. He named the first two humans Gu Chen and Gu Xi; within a thousand years, the original three thousand had multiplied into tens of thousands, but remained vulnerable to demon beasts and lacked a viable cultivation path 24.

Founding of Martial Dao

When Gu Chen and Gu Xi pleaded for a method that could protect humanity from predation, Lu Chen rejected teaching them an immortal art unsuited to the Human Race’s innate foundation. Instead, he experimented with a body-centered path based on strengthening qi, blood, flesh, and latent potential 24.

Gu Chen became the first successful practitioner. His oath to Human Dao awakened the previously dormant authority, brought down merit, and earned him the title of Martial Progenitor; Human Dao also bestowed upon him a crimson cloak marked with the character “Martial” 25.

With Human Dao’s aid, Gu Chen transformed the method into inheritance imprints embedded in every human’s spiritual platform. He was thereafter honored as the Martial Ancestor, while Lu Chen and Nuwa instructed humanity to develop independently rather than rely on the protection of stronger races 26.

Growth into a major race

The Human Race developed practical civilization alongside Martial Dao. Fire-Driller, Nest-Builder, and Life-Knower created fire, clothing, and thatched dwellings, becoming the Three Civilizational Ancestors alongside the Martial Ancestor 28.

By the time Lu Chen revisited the East Sea, humans had expanded into several hundred thousand people. Their society included martial cultivation, hunting, construction, weaving, education, and household labor; even elderly humans could retain vigorous qi and blood through Martial Dao 32.

After several million years of peace, the population reached hundreds of millions. Human-Witch Hybrids emerged from unions between humans and witches, improving ties between the Human Race and Witch Clan and serving as a bridge between the two peoples 42.

Chu Chen’s opening of Mystic Illumination gave the Human Race a route to Quasi-Saint-level power. The race became a first-rate force in the Primordial World, though still beneath the Witch and Demon Races in overall foundation 60.

Protagonists of Heaven and Earth

Hongjun declared that the withdrawal of the Witch and Demon Tribes would make the Human Race the new protagonists of Heaven and Earth. Humanity was destined to produce the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, whose accomplishments would lead the race to rule the Primordial World 61.

Fuxi reincarnated as a human to become the Heavenly Sovereign. After comprehending the Primordial Eight Trigrams and sharing its applications with every tribe, he was recognized as humanity’s common sovereign and later formally ascended as Heavenly Sovereign 67 68.

Laozi’s attempt to use the Kongtong Seal to confine the Human Sovereigns failed when Lu Chen invoked his authority as Holy Father and issued his own decree. The resulting consolidation of Human Race fortune allowed Nuwa to integrate with Human Dao as its spokesperson; she subsequently prohibited Sages from interfering in Human Race affairs or openly spreading their teachings among humanity 69.

Shennong succeeded Fuxi as Earth Sovereign after his medical work became accessible through Cangjie’s creation of human writing. Xuanyuan later unified the Human Race through the Battle of Zhuolu and was invested as the Human Sovereign 72 84.

Later governance

Cangjie’s three thousand characters established writing as a permanent vehicle for Human Race knowledge. Shennong used it to circulate the Hundred Herbs Classic, while Fuxi and other leaders recorded their own arts and discoveries 72.

After the era of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, Yu controlled the floods, cast the Nine Tripod Cauldrons, and established the Nine Provinces. His son Qi later ended the abdication system, founded the Xia dynasty, and turned Human Race rulership into a hereditary monarchy 89.

By the Shang dynasty, Human Race society had progressed beyond tribal settlements into cities. Chaoge served as the capital under King Di Yi, with Prince Zi Shou and Wen Zhong positioned as important figures in the approaching Investiture of the Gods era 106.

• Martial Dao initially does not greatly extend lifespan. Bone Tempering adds roughly 240 years, Blood Tempering 500 years, Marrow Cleansing 1,000 years, Aperture Opening 10,000 years, and Divine Ability one million years 89.
