Yu spent the day sightseeing and having fun with Tongtong.
The following evening, Tongtong asked Yu to take her home.
Tongtong's home was the Netherworld.
Yu had more or less guessed that the one there must have something to discuss with him.
And so they arrived in that familiar Japanese-style room in Great Yamato Toyo-Akitsu, Yomi, in the Netherworld.
The Human-Faced Spider hung from a silk thread on the ceiling beam. On the human face on her back, three eyes arranged in a triangle stared down beneath the beam. "Tongtong, you were far too slow. I told you to bring him here immediately, but you dragged it out for an entire day!"
Tongtong pointed her little finger at the beam. "You nasty spider, who do you think you are, putting on airs like that! I wanted to play with him!"
"Ah..." The Human-Faced Spider sighed helplessly. "Fine. Be quicker next time."
"Hmph!" Tongtong gave a petulant huff, then went into the next room to play with Xiao You and Xiao Qiong.
Now only Yu, Subichini, and the spider hanging from the beam remained in the room.
Without Teacher Ubiji around, the place really did feel much quieter.
Yu sighed inwardly and sat down on the tatami.
About ten minutes later, the door opened, and a graceful figure suffused with a dim purple glow walked in. It was Xiaoxue, who had become a Netherworld Soul Reaper!
Unlike Yu back then, Xiaoxue was a full-time Netherworld Soul Reaper. She ate and slept in the Netherworld and could only obtain permission to return to the living world during her free time.
This was also an overt maneuver the Netherworld used to keep Yu, now an immortal, in check!
