Yu and Xiyang spent a full three and a half hours at it in the hot spring. By the time they finished, dawn was breaking, and birds chirped on the branches of the cherry trees.
Xiyang floated on her back, her waist-length purple hair spreading across the water. Cherry petals covered her body, while her mind still lingered in the afterglow of their profound communion of souls.
Beside the hot spring, Yu put on his black haori.
With her eyes closed, Xiyang asked, "Where are you going?"
Yu tied a white sash around his waist. "To see Rin and Xiao Feng."
Xiyang said, "Mm... Xiao Feng hasn't been weaned yet, and Rin doesn't have enough milk, so she and your godmother Mito take turns nursing him. They should be together right now."
"Mm... I understand," Yu said wistfully.
In the bedroom, Mito had opened the front of her robe to nurse Xiao Feng. Her beautiful eyes shone with tenderness, while she buried her bitterness deep inside.
