"Do we have other companions?"

Hizashi Hyuga stood frozen in astonishment. All this time, he had thought only three people were striving to change the Hyuga Clan's rules. He had not expected Uchiha Yuu to have kept something hidden.

Seeing the surprise on his face, Yuu explained patiently. He had kept Reiko in the dark and, incidentally, tested Hizashi as well. But in his future plans, the Hyuga Clan would be an immense force, capable of helping him accomplish many necessary tasks.

"Did you think the three of us could change the current situation? Unless you can grow powerful enough to rival the First Hokage, you should obediently accept the clan's arrangements."

"I established an organization called Enlightenment, meant to usher in a new tomorrow. And our organization's symbol is..."

He drew an image before him—the symbol of Enlightenment. A radioactive element was reflected upon a black strip of cloth, representing nuclear peace for all!

"Do not tell Hyuga Reiko about this. And matters concerning the organization must remain secret. In the future, we may find ourselves opposed to Konoha in certain ways."

Uchiha Yuu spoke vaguely, his tone carrying a vision that stirred longing. Yet the meaning behind his words made Hizashi Hyuga shudder, and his body unconsciously retreated half a step.

The meaning of "opposed" was quite subtle.

Perhaps they would merely disagree with the village on certain matters and could only act in secret. Or perhaps they would become rogue ninja, hunted by the village.

After saying this, Uchiha Yuu watched Hizashi Hyuga's expression. Sooner or later, he had to take this step.

If Hizashi could not take it, then he was only fit to be an external member, at most cooperating with Yuu on some superficial tasks.
