Orochimaru spoke with feeling, desperate to change Konoha's corruption. Seeing Uchiha Yuu's resolute gaze, Orochimaru sighed softly, heavily patting his shoulder twice as he said:

"Be careful. I don't want to hear news of your death next time. If you encounter an opponent you can't resist, then even if you have to abandon the mission, stay alive."

Those words somewhat went against Orochimaru's heart, but he had come to see things clearly. No matter how strong a ninja was or how many missions he completed, nothing was more important than life. Signing a contract with the giant snakes of Ryūchi Cave was not the same as cultivating Snake Senjutsu, and it did not have many harsh requirements.

After unrolling the scroll, Yuu saw rows upon rows of names, with Orochimaru's name at the very end.

Uchiha Yuu cut open his palm and pressed it onto the summoning scroll. From that moment on, Yuu could summon the giant snakes of Ryūchi Cave.

"Thank you, Teacher Orochimaru."

The importance of a summoning scroll was that it gave him another means of preserving his life on the battlefield.
