More than ten minutes later.

Xu Mo received the information Hill had sent him on his phone.

After reading through it, Xu Mo waved his hand.

A spatial portal slowly opened beside him.

Xu Mo looked over his hands in surprise.

Only when he cast magic did he realize that after advancing to Planetary Level as a Spirit Reader, although the total amount of his spiritual power had not increased by much, its quality was several times greater than before.

Casting magic was much easier than it had been.

But now was not the time to think about that. He should save Annie first.

With that thought, he stepped into the portal before him.

Palm Bay.

Inside a rundown motel beside a desolate street.

Two figures stood by the window, observing the scene outside on the street.

After confirming that the enemy had not followed them, the two sat down on the bed in the room.

They were none other than the missing Annie and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s veteran agent, Natasha.

"What exactly are those things? Why are they trying to kill me?"

Still shaken, Annie looked at Natasha across from her.

Natasha reloaded the gun in her hand and slid it back into the holster on her thigh.

"Those things are called Sentinel Robots. They're specifically designed to capture mutants!"

Annie froze when she heard that.

"Hadn't humans and mutants already made peace? Why was something like this still happening?"

"You actually believed what those politicians said?"

Natasha wiped at the wound on her face and answered casually.

"Fine!"

Sitting on the bed, Annie gently raised her right hand. Moisture in the air rapidly gathered at her fingertips, forming a large block of ice within moments.

"This mutant ability is just incredible!"

The reason she had gone missing was that a few days ago, she had suddenly discovered that she had awakened this ability to create ice out of thin air. Unable to control it for the time being, she had gone into hiding.

During those two days, almost everything she touched had shattered into icy fragments.

She had not even been able to contact her family.

She had finally managed to control her ability, only to be targeted by several robots that wanted to capture her and take her away.

Fortunately, her ability was not weak, and at a critical moment, the woman before her, who claimed to be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, had saved her.

"I'd advise you to conserve your strength!"

Natasha got up and lay down on the bed, offering a warning.

"Even if reinforcements hurry, they won't arrive until tonight. Until then, we can only rely on ourselves!"

The moment she finished speaking, her expression changed sharply.

She got up and went to the door, peering outside through the crack.

The motel was by the sea. Beyond the fenced backyard, less than a hundred meters away, was the beach.

At that moment, three Sentinel Robots over five meters tall slowly descended from the sky onto the beach.

"Not good. Move!"

Natasha hurried to the window and opened it.

"Follow me!"

With that, she jumped out the window.

Their room was on the second floor, only three or four meters above the ground.

Hearing that, Annie hurried to the window as well.

Thanks to her experience filming action movies, she too landed lightly on the ground.

After landing, neither of them stopped. They got straight into a car parked by the roadside, and it sped toward the intersection.

The robots behind the motel emitted an alarm.

"Mutant trace detected!"

The three figures then took off once more.

Thanks to their mutant detection equipment, the Sentinel Robots spotted Annie in less than two minutes.

At that moment, Natasha was driving along a coastal highway in the opposite direction.

The three Sentinel Robots showed no concern for the pedestrians. They accelerated directly, landed in front of the car, and slammed their arms heavily onto its hood.

The car nearly flipped into the air.

Under the sudden deceleration, the two women inside nearly flew out through the windows.

Fortunately, their seat belts did their job.

A moment later, the two climbed out of the car, rubbing the spots where the seat belts had dug into them.

"Shit, those things almost squeezed my tits flat!"

Natasha offered the Sentinel Robots a heartfelt greeting.

The Sentinel Robots across from her showed no reaction. Their gazes were all fixed on Annie.

They began walking toward her.

"Run!!"

Natasha shouted at Annie, pulled special pistols from both sides of her thighs, and fired at the robots.

The bullets struck the robots and all bounced away.

They could not cause them any damage at all.

However, her actions did draw the Sentinel Robots' attention.

"Come get me, you idiots!"

After shouting, Natasha ran in the other direction without looking back.

She knew very well that the two of them were no match for these Sentinel Robots. All she could do was buy time and wait for reinforcements to arrive.

The three Sentinel Robots watched the two women flee in opposite directions before ultimately splitting up.

One pursued Natasha.

The other two charged straight at Annie.

After all, capturing mutants was their primary duty.

Annie turned to look at the two Sentinel Robots closing in behind her, then quickly turned and ran toward the sea.

The reason the two had chosen to rest at a seaside motel was Annie's ability. Although she could create ice from thin air, she needed enough water vapor in the air to do so.

Inland, a single use of her ability could very likely drain all the moisture from the surrounding area.

But the seaside was different. This was undoubtedly her home ground, where her combat power could be greatly enhanced.

She had run less than fifty meters when the robots behind her were already within five meters of her.

Seeing this, a flash of icy blue appeared in Annie's eyes.

The surrounding moisture rapidly condensed around the robots. In less than two seconds, they had become two ice sculptures.

But before Annie could breathe a sigh of relief, a crack appeared on the surface of the two ice sculptures.

Noticing this, Annie did not hesitate and activated her ability again.

She drained all the water vapor within a hundred-meter radius.

The ice covering the two Sentinel Robots had reached nearly a meter thick.

Even so, Annie did not let down her guard.

Suppressing the weakness washing over her body, she fled into the distance.

As Natasha ran, she occasionally fired several shots behind her, keeping the robot's attention fixed on herself.

Unlike Annie, she deliberately chose narrow alleys.

Although the Sentinel Robot reduced the buildings on both sides of the road to ruins along the way.

And terrified pedestrians scattered in every direction.

It also left the robot unable to do much to her for the moment.

However, when Natasha emerged from an alley and saw three Sentinel Robots appear before her once again, her expression instantly froze.
