Ji Wenyue is the legitimate daughter of the Ji Family Patriarch and a crucial figure in the family’s medicinal business. A gifted alchemist since childhood, she restored several incomplete ancient prescriptions, helping Evergreen Hall prosper; by age seventeen, she had become an indispensable member of the Ji Family. 5

While traveling to Eya City to assess and purchase a five-hundred-year-old Phoenix Jade Grass, she was escorted by a Fifth-Rank Ji Family elder. Hundred Herbs Hall ambushed the party, and the elder stayed behind to buy her time to flee. Ji Wenyue was eventually cornered in the desert by Elder Liao and his men, who intended to imprison her and exploit her alchemy knowledge. 3 5

She met Xia Daoming during this pursuit. Ji Wenyue entrusted him with one of her family’s protective talismans, used another herself, and fought to escape before Xia killed Elder Liao.
